Hi guys,
For sale is my Saab 9-5 Estate. I absolutely love this car and the only reason I'm selling it is with the amount of miles I cover 20mpg and using super unleaded is too costly.
MOT'd until 23/11/18.
It was originally the 2 litre SE model but after spinning a bearing a while ago it now has the 2.3T engine from a 2003 model in there mated to the original manual gearbox. The car shows 152k miles on it but the engine is approx. 20k less than that. I've spent a small fortune on upgrading the performance of the car, not that you can tell from the outside (which I wanted, it's hilarious watching Focus ST's disapear in the rear mirror!). There is now a genuine Saab TD04 turbo (still has a years warrenty), Albert666 3.5" downpipe (considered the best one to have), do88 full intercooler kit and pipework, red Aero injectors, RamAir cone filter, Maptun blow off valve, remapped by Noobtune as Stage X (this is becasue of new engine in old body shape, it's stage 3+ in reality). I've just changed the spark plugs and the ignition coil was replaced for a genuine item about a year ago. The engine has had the PCV upgrade, has had the sump dropped (no nastiness to report) and had the timing chain replaced.
As it currently stands it is producing 258bhp and 427nm/torque. By changing the actuator and having a session on a rolling road to get it and the BOV set right this will easily see 300bhp and 450nm/torque. Because the turbo is still under warrently I haven't bothered but the potental is definatly there and that's where I was going to go with it.
The brakes and suspension are the originals to the car. I have been meaning to upgrade the brakes for a while but couldn't decide on a spec. The brakes work okay, but judder a bit if slowing down from speed. The suspension is all working fine but would benifit from being upgraded as well.
The bodywork is in pretty good condition for it's age. There are a few car park dings around it and one very big ding from someone driving into the side of it in a car park. Apart from a few small bits of rust coming through on the front arches, the rest of the body is great. It has the bonus of having reversing sensors as well.
It has the Saab hammerhead alloys on currently which are all in good condition but the paint has flaked in places. The front tyres are gatting close to the wear limit now but the rears are in very good order. One being new about 1k miles ago. I have a spare set of wheels to go with the car that were taken from the engine donor.
The interior has black leather seats from another car and grey door cards which are original. I have a full set of heated black leather seats from a Vector model and matching door cards, also from the donor, that I will be giving away with the Saab as well. The dashboard is dark walnut and in good condition. AC works quite well but the air flap on the passanger side is faulty (common problem) so blows warm air into the rear currently. I've added a TIM turbo gauge onto the top of the dashboard as well, but this is easily removed.
I've probably missed a lot out, so if you have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.
I will add some new photos once I've cleaned it from the monsoon we had recently, but if you want to read the Readers Rides thread about it it's here: forum.retro-rides.org/thread/194527/2000-saab-9-estate-stage
