Selling this on behalf of a friend. He has owned it for 13 years and got married and brought two of his kids home from the hospital in it!
There were tears when I took it away hence I'm selling it for him. He would love it to live on as long as possible and be cared for by its next owner
• An early Audi A3 1.8t sport, registered 15th May 1998 so 20 years old this year! (1st A3's were sold in Nov/Dec 96)
• 3 door (5 doors weren't available till later in 1999)
• Mot expires 8th August. (will check it over to see if anything obvious) nothing obvious might be advisory on tyres
• approx. 123,000 miles (mot history reads ok registration is R157DNC ) covered an average of 4500 miles a year
• 1.8 20valve turbo engine, 150 BHP
• Fully stamped original service book! Yes, you read that right! Handbooks and manuals (and even a Haynes) all present as are some bills and paperwork.
> Receipts for a new ABS module 10 years ago (£650!)
> Remote central locking and total close alarm fitted
> Service stamps for 99/01/02/03/04/05/06/07/08/09/10/11/12/13/14/15/17 (every year or 10,000 miles !)
• Air conditioning blows cold, electric tilt/slide sunroof works perfectly, electric mirrors and windows work well.
• One new tyre on front rest are 3/4 worn and will need replacing in the near future. Spare alloy has plenty of tread.
• Comes with 2 keys, 2 remotes (one needs repair) and the original emergency plastic key!
• Drives, starts, stops, locks
• Very rare Paradise Green metallic. I would imagine there were only ever a small number in this colour of this spec when new, now even less.
• 4 owners, last owner for 13 years, has been their family car so has been well cared for and maintained but unfortunately too small for them now. My mate is gutted to have to let it go, so much so I'm doing it for him!
• I've known the car since my mate has had it (13 years) and it's had no major damage or failures that I know of. Can remember helping him when replacing a window regulator but that's about it!
• Early cars are getting a rarer sight these days and this has the bonus of being the sport model with the ever popular 1.8t engine with 150bhp, factor in the colour and the age and it'll be in the realms of retro chic imminently and a classic in a few years (which it will last for as it's been well cared for!)
- Has got some cosmetic damage to the rear bumper, like it has nudged a bollard or similar, broken a bit of the paint.
Stone chip and hole in nearside headlight glass (have an unblemished glass to be fitted)
Some scratches and scuffs as would be expected from a 20 year old car.
- Dash pixels. Some have gone. From what I gather it's the norm at this age.
- currently investigating a running issue, idles and runs fluttery from cold, still goes well and when boost comes in it shifts. Just checked the oil and appears to be a fair way over maximum for some reason? Will investigate further...... drained out some oil, disconnected airbox, installed new pipercross foam air filter. Car now runs really smoothly at the moment not hunting or fluttering. Can only assume it is a maf or temperature sensor issue that is intermittent.
• Car is located in Sidcup, South East London, close to the A2/A20 & M25
•priced at £650 ono deposit taken
Will update all this when I get more details and get to drive it etc
