Regrettably for sale, my 1994 Audi 80 Avant TDi. I bought this a couple of months ago with the intention of using it for summer camping trips, but an upcoming work secondment to the US has put a stop to that and now it’s taking up space I don’t have.
The basics:
- 240,000 miles (that’s nothing for these cars!)
- Extensive and detailed service history from new
- MOT until 12th November 2018
It has very recently had a full and thorough service (oil, all filters, all fluids), as well as: new front discs and pads, a new LH front Caliper, new front flexi hoses, new crank pulley/damper, new idler pulley. I’ve also been through the car and sorted out various little niggles and issues, as well as having the interior professionally cleaned.
The bullet proof 1.9 TDi engine starts on the button and runs well, with no smoke. The car drives well and is smooth and quiet with no knocks or bangs/rattles. The interior shows the mileage/useage this car has had more than the rest of the vehicle and is quite tired in some places, the worst being a rip in the drivers seat bolster and the headlining which is a bit saggy (someone has previously tried to repair this). Despite this, it’s clean, comfortable and functional with everything working as it should. The only thing that doesn’t work is the central locking – I meant to replace the air pump at the back to sort this, but simply haven’t got round to it. It’s a straightforward fix though.
The exterior is clean and presentable, there are small marks and scratches in various places (particularly around the door handles) and the alloys could benefit from being reconditioned. But again nothing too bad, for the age and mileage it’s pretty good to be fair! There are a few small areas of rust bubbles on the front arches and on the tailgate edge, but other than that the car is completely solid.
Essentially, it’s a great old car that’s had a lot of use but still has plenty of life left in it.
Car is located in Oxford and viewing is welcome (evenings and weekends).
Thanks for looking and feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.
