Here we have my trusty Peugeot 205. It has the 1769cc version of the famed Peugeot XUD diesel engine, so is very economical and averages 55mpg on my commute. This has served me well for 5000 miles but is now for sale as I've replaced it with a larger vehicle complete with tow bar to cater for a newly-purchased trailer tent.
The Peugeot has 198k on the clock and has an MoT certificate valid until March 2019. The car has a few dings and scratches here and there but still comes up alright after a wash. It recently had four new tyres (less than 1000 miles ago) and I also replaced an engine mount and a couple of radiator/coolant hoses after I bought the car.
The car currently has an idling issue when cold but otherwise runs and drives fine. This came about after I had to remove the top of the fuel pump to replace an O-ring to cure a leak, so I can only assume it didn't go back on/back together quite as it should. A person who knows more about diesel engines/fuel pumps than I would probably be able to sort it easily, but I just haven't had the time. It still runs fine once warmed up, I've been using it regularly and it has never let me down/failed to proceed. The fuel filter light also comes on and off at intervals I replaced the filter when I bought the car but I do have another one to fit to try and finally solve this. Again this doesn't affect how the car runs though. It is surprisingly fun to drive and would make a great cheap runabout that costs peanuts to run – that is the very reason why I bought the car (my second 205 diesel) in the first place. But I have no need for the car now so am open to offers.
Finding a friendly image-sharing website is proving problematic, so until I can work out a way to post pics directly, here is a link to some pics of the car. imgur.com/a/XxIX9n7
Car can be viewed in Alwalton near Peterborough and I can be contacted by PM on here or via email at mg261285AThotmailDOT.com
Cheers,
Matt
