I have for sale a 1989 998 cc Austin Mini Mayfair. MOT till 17th July 2019 and currently taxed and on the road. As can be seen in the pictures below this has been restored and done up to look like a Mini Cooper and to the uninitiated it would appear to look the part.
With a 1970 J reg plate on the car, old English white paintwork with a black roof, false twin tank filler cap, chrome boot hinges, body coloured rear number plate light cover, Speedwell badges and centre clocks fitted it looks a lot older than it is. Certainly when I park up at various runs and static displays it always gets plenty of attention.
With the prices of good a good Cooper going through the roof this is a relatively cheap way of getting into classic motoring.
I bought the car from this site nearly a year ago from Edinburgh and it drove home to Northern Ireland perfectly. We have a government department run MOT test over here which is a lot more stringent than on the mainland. So in order to pass this year's MOT it was necessary to address some of the advisories that the last couple of English and Scottish MOTs had listed.
With a n/s front hub assembly, front wheel bearings, ball joint kit, tie bar bushes, front pear mount, inner c.f. boot, brake master cylinder, o/s front brake calipers, o/s front brake hose, rear wheel cylinders, rear brake shoes, rear metal brake pipes, new door mirrors a full service and wheel alignment the little car is very sound and ready to give miles of reliable motoring.
The car is currently on black and white plates, not strictly legal but does come with white and yellow plates for the MOT.
There is plenty of paperwork to show the work and money spent on this car over the years and this year's work wasn't scrimped on either.
I could be tempted with a part exchange saloon (modern 4 or 5 door saloon) but must have a long MOT.
