Hmmmmmm must be the Gathering Weekend, how else would the powers that be let such a negative thread continue for so long Having previously worked in Halfords for several years in the early 00's i sold many such things to all and sundry. Yes people can go well over the top with it, but i'm sure people say the same about lowering and putting wide wheels on cars, yet that's what we like. Somewhere in a parallel universe there is a forum for such things where they post up our cars and take the curse word out of us....

I agree, it would be very easy to deride a lot of what we do if it doesn't appeal.
My current car came to me plastered in racing and performance decals and racing numbers on the bonnet, doors and rear end. It had canvas towing strops front and back.
Never been on a race track in its life. It's just as stupid. The exact same way but a different set of tat.
I took all that off... But have since added a frankly ridiculous hoodscoop. There's no supercharger beneath it. It's just a bit of tat.
Exact same thing. Just dfferent flavours of tat.
Each to their own!

I'm just amazed at the amount of tat you can buy! where do you buy such tat is there an underground network of shops on the dark web?!
Seeing the amount of tated up motors I feel a new business enterprise coming on, there seems to be a big market for it!

Seeing those pics of chrome strip surrounded rear lights I remember hearing the term Ankara-style back in the 90s.

I am not shocked at human taste, more shocked that so much specific tailored tat even exist to buy for a sportage That is a very good point. Each individual item is probably intended to enhance the car to your tastes, there was probably no intention that anyone would stick the whole range of tat to one car. I saw the Ka again today, dark blue, pink wheels, chrome and stickers and stuff all over it, again i was unable to get a picture but at least i know its local.

my archives reveal some tat-look kadettE/mk2 i think my "favourite" bit is the chrome exhaust tail pipe exiting through the rear of bodywork (behind the front door) nowhere near where the exhaust actually is

theres also this. at least one of the gauges will be to warn of "danger to teh manifold" after the 3rd stage of naaaawz kicks in. the rest i think are gauges to gauge how gaugey the adjacent gauge is. presumably all reading maximum then

I saw it run at Santa Pod a few times.

Currently for sale on Car and Classic, how to take the Fun out of a Skoda Fun. Mercedes grill, 15 meters of fablon... and am I right in suspecting that air intake is merely stuck onto the bonnet?
