Opportunity to join us and SDCN Ice Lake Driving in Norway!!
So early this week two of the lads on here informed me that every winter they head to Norway with their Subaru's to drive the Ice Lakes with Subaru Club Norway, not only that there was still space available.
So I crunched some numbers, joined the event group and got chatting to everyone, had a word with the mrs to make sure I'm allowed and I've reserved a slot for me and Andy Rose in the E30 . The good news for anyone interested is there are still 5 slots left for any make of car.
So if you think it might interest you we are leaving the UK on Jan 16th and Returning Jan 21/22. We will be going out in convoy, some people with trailers including us. The distance is roughly 1300miles one way with a one night stop on the way and potentially on the way back.
The event has driving time for two days on the Saturday and Sunday with reasonably priced accommodation including food close to the venue. A selection of track layouts that you are free to use. It looks like a huge amount of fun for RWD and AWD cars although hydro and FWD would be great fun too.
What's the cost:
Well after putting some numbers together if you share a car with a friend it looks to be around £1000, that is taking your own car.
Rough break down per person with 2 people sharing one car but trailered with a van:
- 2 Day Ice tracks use - £74.17
- Accommodation Friday - Sunday with food - £278.89
- Fuel - £300
- Euro Tunnel - £190.50
- Extra Food - £100
- 1 night stay one way - £50
If you think this might interest you let me know and I can send you further info. Deposits are due before Dec 15th for the accommodation near the venue and the driving itself. I can add you to the group page and help you sort your reservation out.
We will be doing our best to get everyone to travel together as it will be more fun but you are more than welcome to make your own way over.
