I’m sure I read about this or something very similar in Octane magazine a couple of years back, It’s a real work of art. 😍

I'm glad to see at least one dissenting opinion here, and I honestly agree on each perspective equally. I've seen this/these cars before, and I'm absolutely torn 50/50 in my response.
I think I'll call this concept
B O L D.

Lovely workmanship, especially the chop around the rear window, but IMHO without the front bumper and grills it looks like they haven't finished putting it back together yet. Have they really converted from RHD to LHD?

Not seen this statement in a while.... Certainly agree with the OOOOOFFF. It will certainly divide opinions, but as always, his car, his way. And looking at the work and thought put into it, it does further extend skills and expectations for the hobby, regardless of modified or standard camps.

No, bloody sacrilege would've been to wake it from its slumber and beat it into other classic cars around an oval track one afternoon. This is craftsmanship.

Err? You know that Perfect thread......... This has got to be on the score board. Maybe if they hadn't sanded the doors off the car so there's a massive dip in the paint either side of them Looks like a fat bloke in the Hall of Mirrors It'd look superb on a cloudy day though

You could have built that same car for a similar outlay without destroying an original Aurelia so what was the ulimate point of the exercise. To build a vision you had, or to just create a controversy.
Craftmanship - possibly with the work carried out but that's open to interpretation - a bit like Banksy daubing something over the Mona Lisa.
For me it's just a wanton destruction of a GT Icon for the sake of being controversial - Let's face it same exact car built out of glassfibre would not have got the same limelight. Like Banksy daubing something on a Mona Lisa poster.
My response - What a plonker.

If this was a different car, the opinions would not be so decisive, Any of the A or B fords done to that standard and proportions would be instantly accepted as right, or an E type converted to a lightweight replica, or a Lynx for that matter would be accepted, I don't think anybody would be too perturb either if a Austin 7 was stripped down and a Ulster style body fitted, or a Bently or Roller stripped back for the chassis to build a aero engined Behemoth, or. to rebody it with a gently sports type body would be perfectly acceptable, even a Audi Quattro or a Mk1/2 escort chopped up to make a Group B replica, But a Not that uncommon Lancis? ?, .... I'm all for it,

That is excellent. There are plenty of Aurelia around to roll around as stock as you like, nice to see someone with a bit of vision and the wherewithal to modify one. If it disturbs your sensibilities, think of it as a coachworked classic, something Zagato might have made. Mechanically it is all sensible within marque upgrades, isn't like they chucked a Ford engine in an Alfa or something. In fact they are based on a car that actually existed : www.fuorilegge.co.uk/history/You'll all be pleased to know they are making more of them out of rusty old Italian cars too, in fact there are 6 of them I believe : www.fuorilegge.co.uk/thecars/
