Hey all,
Surely we can't be the only people who do this? Chloe and I have found recently that we spend far too much time after car shows trawling google, facebook, instagram etc etc to find number plates, specs, owners names, general chit chat related to the cars we found most interesting and create in depth files with pictures of what we find.
Sure "how many left" can be a quick hit but some cars just plain aren't on there.
My most recent search and file start is on Hakosukas, which I started yesterday. So far, I'm up to a confirmed 17 though I think there are closer to 25 as not everyone uses the internet or posts about what they have which is the beauty of car shows and instagram/fb, other people take photos and tag them, making them searchable.
13x 2 doors, of those 4 are genuine GT-R's, one of them is a shortnose model (which is the only one not badged as a GT-R despite many of them being 2000gt/GTX's, 3 of them are un-registered or in restoration)
4x 4 doors though I've read there are 5 but haven't personally found the 5th yet (EDIT, think I found it)
I'm keeping logs of colour, interior spec, engine, glass tint and date last spotted. Wheels in this case aren't too important as they're so interchangeable and 99% of them are on watanabes, I wouldn't mind getting chassis numbers but that's a lot harder as I have to actually see the cars in person and some people won't give out that info for ringing purposes which is totally understandable, a lot of these are very recently imported and as such have very short MOT histories.
I found recently that some hero (Phil Ray) has been doing the same for S30 Z's though he's going to have a hard time getting them all as there are thousands left in the US. He's been logging engine numbers and vins which has highlighted some quite interesting habits at the factory, engines were installed out of numerical order which I presume is due to a bottleneck in production at the factory, a room full of engines and the workmen only picked the ones closest to the door perhaps.

Chloe's file has been related to her Gen 1 civic, I can't recall how many she's found but it's quite a few more than I expected. I think every car club should keep a log some way or another. I don't envy the guy doing MGB GT's haha.
Have you created your own logs (huhuh!) and what have you found?
