Hi All,
After some drawn out searching I found someone who can do laminated curved windscreen cutting. This guy was recommended to me by Andy Saunders.
His name is Julian & he is at Autoglaze Ltd. 94, Cobham Road, Wimbourne, Dorset. BH21 7RE. Mob:- 07836-737100 / Tel:- 01202-864400
A very helpful guy, he cut down two curved sreens for me for a Volvo PV544 with a roof chop.
Could be useful to anyone out there doing a roof chop on a car with a curved screen.
Cheers, Roger

Cutting curved ,laminated windscreens isn't difficult to do. With a bit of planning and the right gear, you can do it at home. Mask up the entire windscreen with self adhesive vinyl, only leaving a line uncovered where it needs to be cut. Do this both sides of the glass. Put a couple of layers of vinyl next to the cut line. Sandblast your way through from both sides and cut the plasic in the middle of the windscreen with a Stanley knife. Job done....😊

JB you don't even have to involve the sandblaster - laminate glass is cut with a good glass cutter - has you would normal glass but on both sides of the screen - once you have tapped your cut line through a little gentle heat to soften the plastic interlayer and you can carefully pull down on the outer edge which allows enough room for a single edge blade to enter the cut and part the interlayer - dependant upon the curvature & radius edge of the screen you may have to undertake this in sections - you can also linish / reduce laminated glass with care - slower speed fine flap wheel on a small angle grinder and a deft hand soon sorts it

^^ That may well be Chris,I don't doubt it 😊 All I can say, from my experience , was that's how I went about it. About 15 years ago a friend was building a car that required all the glass cutting down. Nobody would touch it. That's how I did it, including the side glass that shatters if you look at it wrong, seeing it's designed to self destruct into square blocks if bumped. Landed up cutting five sets of glass in the end with one breakage as I was impatient....😊
