Very stubborn tie rod help needed

Hello guys got a issue with a tie rod , basically it's not coming out steering rack I'd or the hub side , both nuts are off but it's seized in the holes any suggestions what could be done I have heated it up and also used a fork separator with a club hammer but it's still not moving all help appriciated in advance Thank you

You'll need to give the actual housing a good slapping with the hammer, not the ball joint.

Tried this and it's still same, had a similar issue with the wishbone ok this, I soaked it in plus gas so hoping it will soak in all night still will try anything so keep suggestions coming lol

Try with 2 hammers, one either side and a simultaneous wallop. Works for me near enough every time, tot he point I don't have a splitter.

I despair every time I see someone working on a car with an ikea style claw hammer.

alternatively get a screw type balljoint separator from machinemart or halfords, or most motorfactors.

I will get more heat on to it, and carry on with the hammers I habe also put loads of plus gas on to it and still didn't want to know, had even used a impact gun, so it moved it about about but nope still nothing, I heard acetone/ATF mix is meant to be a good penetration fluid has anyone had much experience with this method ?

If you have a compressor a good rattle on the end of the ball joint with an air chisel usually shifts them.

If you've tried the hammer in ball joint splitter, try borrowing or buying one that slides between and you tighten up basically a 24mm nut and it pushes the jaws apart.

I've also before got a pair of mole grips and put it onto the tie rod and wiggled it (have hit a cheap set with a hammer) to try and twist it (so hopefully the corrosion snaps).

Last but not least I've cut many a nut/body off with an angle grinder and punched what ever through. That's last resort.

Got the hub side off but the one connected to the Collum is still in place had the blow torch on to it still nothing the tops come off but the sharft of the joint still remains in the hole, it's not worrying at another ball joint is close by on the steering column and don't want the best to burn the rubber on that

You could try filing some flats into the shaft so you can get a decent spanner on, then whack it or use a lengh of scaffold pole to lever it loose.

Alternatively, cut the shaft down with a hacksaw or angle grinder, then centre punch the remainder in the centre and drill out with progressively larger drill bits until you are almost cutting into the thread, and ease out any remains (possibly using an Eezi-out of suitable size)...

Once you have the remains out, use a tap and die or similar to clean out/recut the threads.

Thanks guys I spend all.day on oi one side came out.the other on the pitman arm is still stuck in I have ordered a pitman separator so will try that, I soaked it in plus gas and the acetone/ ATF mix so will keep.soaking it till the separator arrives, unfortunately I don't have a compressor I did use my impact gun on the bolt but still nothing heated it loads and hit it loads but still stubborn , now I will be using copper grease when replacing it has a flat non threaded sharft that goes on to the hub and pitman,and that's where its stuck

never grease a taper, that only allows them to pull in even tighter, potentially damaging the bore.
