f you don't like attention, then this isn't the van for you!
Looking for swap/px for classic mini, mk2 golf, sleeper something differetnt
This van makes people walk into lamp posts, some laugh, some cry,
So the elephant in the room;
12 months mot! until May 2020
The nato green paint has been rollered on and has flaked in a couple of places but is perfectly aged and faded for a great military effect.
The bonnet is rusty with rothfink details, and the windows are full of stickers ( can be removed by yourself if not your thing)
There is good detailing Including rusty side bars, hessian sack cover on wing mirror, a bottle cap in a rust hole on passenger wing etc.
It has 15 inch wheels that are banded vw steels with vito hub caps, the tyres are too small profile in my opinion so I did buy some 195/60/15s that can come with for you to change if you wanted.
The camper is low, not stupidly low as it can be driven everywhere, but low enough for side bars to scrape on my drive or on small curbs.
The engine and mechanicals are good working order, it has very low mileage for a VW diesel engine and pulls well in every gear, there is a slight rattle at pull off from stand still but has done it since I have had it and not got any worse, the clutch engages with no slipping and the cambelt was done when I purchased it last may. ( it has seldom been used so roughly 800 miles a go ). I had rear discs and pads changed in June or July as they were low.
It has an air horn under the bonnet that is loud and a recent battery.
Inside the camper has 3 seats up front with a sports steering wheel and sticker bombing details on the dash, the floor mats are new this year, it drives like a car not a van.
In the back there is a full width rock and roll bed with lap belts( not crash tested) a home made storage box and a military gun case, there is a false floor that houses a pull out table for cooking outside and led lighting that operates on a switch. Curtains on every window and one that separates the cab to the rest of the camper. There is a hook up hidden behind the rear false fog but no breaker board .It is functional and practical, it will get you out and camping.
As I have an 8 month old I haven't been able to get out in it so looking to see what I get offered.
Bad bits, some surface rust as expected but nothing shown on mot with corrosion.
It has a bit of a battery drain( may just be lack of use) so I have fitted a manual battery isolator switch when parked on my drive between uses. Its on the battery and takes a second to use, but at least you know it will start even after 3 months of no use.
Paint has some flaking here and there and it is rough, but that's what it is meant to be, I have a spare bonnet and front bumper available with it.
