Ive got a n/a b230a engine, its on lh2.4 standard, its got bigger injectors, 298 cam, 44/38 valves, slightly ported 530 head, standard pistons on i think 11:1 static compression, cast manifold with standard down pipes ported up. Its on microsquirt too.
i have to stay with the lh2.4 or run say split carbs for the rallying i do.
So, it went to the rollers, i was expecting big power but it came back not a lot more than standard, 136bhp and 150 lbs, but its all over and down with around 5k when i drive it. Its really hard to drive. I was expecting 170 bhp and mroe torque, i thought the biggest problem would be the inlet manifold restricting the motor, but i think at 136bhp its no where near a problem.
Is it for the spec of the motor I'm expecting too much, or is there something wrong with the combinationof parts here? Can anyone give me some help please or suggestions.
a mate of mine had a 2.5 with skimmed head, split 50/s standard cam, standard valves, and it made 156 bhp at the rear wheels of his escort, so thats about 170 bhp at the flywheel.
thanks
