Jaguar XJ6 s2 4.2 litre lwb. Cambs. £3,250.00 1974. Family owned. Documented 19K miles. Parked up past 13 years. In a pleasant combination of Lavender blue with dark blue Connolly hide. I would bet that this just needs a couple of weeks worth of hard work in terms of recommissioning, servicing, MOT, a T-cut & polishing to make it a £10K+ timewarp.

You would like to think so - and its very well priced - but god these are a true money pit (spoken from experience on a 20k miles - 2 owner car) - chances are the stupid carb choke system will be U/S - at least one of the fuel tanks will leak - the head lining sagging off its backing board - the rear silencers will have rotted out tops - and the seat stitching will let go has soon as you look at it - let alone sit in it and that's before you fit 4 tyres & a battery to it - only to find that the good old British Leyland panel & paint quality completely lets the car down if you so much has wash the dust off it - meanwhile the front & rear windscreen seals are leaking water into the car - when you've done all of that then try attempting to tell the MOT tester that the flexible bushing on the steering rack mountings is there to allow movement of the rack and that the rack was intended to move on its mountings slightly has per factory fitment - and when you've done all of this you have to just hope & pray that someone somewhere will pay you what you've spent on it - good luck
