Hi!

So,i work since 1988 in the motor trade as a mechanic.Love my job eversince,would never do anything other

For the first 16 years i worked at a FORD dealer,than 10 years at VW/AUDI/SEAT.
Now,since 2014 i work at a Classic garage...and that's more fun than anything befor.No new scrap!

We make all brands,but mostly english stuff.

So,why not share some fine motors with you?

There was so much nice stuff in the last 5 years ....but i have no photo's taken

How to start?

Hi!
It's not every day a joy to work on this old stuff.
You have to handle with scrap repro parts.....or NO available parts.

And.....mostly with bodge repairs generations of mecanics did befor you get your hands on it!
Sometimes really anoying!
Nowadays it looks like the average mecanic can't even set points right(points?What is that?)...or know what a grease nipple is for..

And...the most expensive cars are very often the worst ones!Believe me or not....i have seen chicken wire on 190SL's more than once!I will show you some pics....

I worked for 10 years only 4 days a week....2 years ago i switched to 3 days.The downside is less money,but i have learned to deal with this.My solution:Buy only things you really need!Repair things!And:The really good things are free!Spend time with my girl,my cats and friends!And at least: My cars!

Have to study the parts list and order a HUGE number of stuff!

Do you not have as much of a problem with rust over there? Never realised Jag sills looked like that!

Had me scratching my head with the W111 engine shot - I was thinking ' What the hell is he blanking out in that shot - what could anyone want to hide the top of a w111 lump' - Then I realised it was a CLEAN workshop rag?

Need to start drinking again.

I didn't realize the blanket on the block gets that attention!But...you're right!If you don't know what it is you have to look twice


The rust repairs on the Jag are done more than 20 years ago....it was a basket case.
So,no exeptions overhere

Engine is back in on the W111 Coupe....



A new guest....911 US-modell for german TÜV/registration.The worst paintjob i have EVER seen!Rattlecan-style..



Also a W110,the small "Heckflosse"....get's a carburetor overhaul.
