Hello I keep seeing this when I walk the beast in the evenings, by no way abandoned and from what the garage who maintain it tell me it’s a one owner from new, It still sits on steel wheels and not alloys and although very faded it has no visual signs of rot. The MOT history also shows no evidence of welding but a warning for a grotty anchorage point. I’m considering knocking on the door, but it’s difficult to gauge a price ..... Thoughts?

I’m considering knocking on the door, but it’s difficult to gauge a price ..... Thoughts? It had a V5 issued last summer which usually suggests a vehicle changed hands, of course this can happen within families but I wouldn't take the 'one owner from new' claims as gospel. It looks scruffy as the paint has oxidised badly but until very recently it has been mainly getting clean MOT passes which usually suggests a car has been looked after. It has been doing very low mileage for years. You say 'no evidence of welding', in 2018 it had an advisory on corrosion at a seat-belt anchorage point but this advisory wasn't there in 2019 so it might have been welded or just cleaned up and disguised. A weekend with T-Cut and a good wax might be transformative. These really hold their value, if I was selling this car I'd probably price it at around £1,300.00. If it has had a change of owner within the last year they might not be in a rush to sell.

Just had a quick look on ebay. You can get one with much better paint for roughly the same money.

Impossible to say without seeing it close up / underneath, looks to be a UK spec which means detuned 90HP ECU.
I wouldn't pay more than £600 for it.

Low miles not much of an advantage really as not being used much an issue in itself. James
