So we're heading back in to another national lock down, and some grotty weather by the looks of things. Have you got any car plans? Stuff you didn't do int he last one that you may be able to get done this time round?
From my side of things, the Porsche is back in my garage and I plan to drive that at least once a week, make a thread about it and a video! Talking of videos I suspect most of my car time is going to be spent on content for this here Retro Rides, I've got Goodwood Speedweek thread to finish, and videos to edit. I'm also trying to get new merchandise (tshirts, hoodies, stickers etc.) sorted, but some how it is already November.
I, as ever, also need to tidy the garage and make it more usable!
So what car things are you guys up to over the next month (if anything), a way to turn this lemon in to lemonade.
(NB: relative merits of lockdown and response are not for here, take your reckon to facebook)

Yay for both content and merch. Please get it sorted before Christmas! Glad to hear that the Porsche is working too. I only got my (retro) car since the last lockdown, but given I have been WFH since early March, not much is going to change. The benefits and drawbacks of working with computers during lockdown, summed up in one sentence.

I think I'll be working as I did for the last one, I'm hoping to be able to get the Cortina's doors positioned etc and make a start on the interior but this all hinges on if the body shop guy is still working (he works on his own and does council vehicles to keep a constant customer)
other than that it's all the little jobs that don't look impressive but have to be done!

Feeling so far is that it won’t slow too much for me this time. The government info says I can continue to work in other peoples houses... and they all seem to have read it But if it goes quiet there are the GSi brakes and seats for the van And probably more importantly sort the front shed and make it a workshop space. Since it’s lockdown again, will there be any more podcasts etc? Really enjoyed them. And looking forward to the merch!!

I am helping with shirts and fixing my garage. The flat roof was shot, and the electrics fried so now a pro has fixed the door and re-roofed I'm re-wiring, fitting cool LED roof lights and clearing out the junk. Paint too probably. Then I can get the car in (2000 Forester) and mastic the rear light (boot pond forms every few weeks), and other tidying (satin black wipers, big valet.) Then - some wheel refurb? I really want a boot spoiler but they're as rare as rocking-horse dung. Oh and I need to refurb the lights too as they're all grotty and yellowed. One day - some lows. Anyone got a set of servicable Impreza WRX blobeye shocks???

As i don’t have anything retro at the moment, i’m going to spend some more time improving my newly acquired Panda 100HP. Bucket seat, and aftermarket steering wheel are first, followed by some painted steel wheels. Going for a 106 Rallye vibe as I plan on doing Targa rallies in it next year

Bleed the brakes and sort the headlight alignment so it can be mot'd and driven.
Not been off the drive since March, car that is.

Hopefully I'll have enough work on meaning I'll be working throughout, although I'm hoping to have weekends free and some time on my projects. I have a little river cruiser project that me and the good lady have been working on together but the lockdown travel restrictions probably mean that we won't be visiting it for a bit. Shame as I was just getting to grips with sorting the solar charger. Keep meaning to make a thread in the Other Mods section about it but I struggle enough updating my car build threads as it is!

Working from home, unchanged, in fact, stepping up a gear for Q4
Waiting for carport roofing materials So that can be finished.
Get Galaxy retested once brake line is replaced.
With carport roof up, Rezin Rockit can progress, remove body....... hang it in the air.
Figure most extreme, affordable, DRIVEABLE slam for chassis, keeping it functional and safe.
That should leave 4 days of shopping before Christmas.

I’m working up to a brave pill. Going to pull the carbs and rad off the mini and start fitting my supercharger.
Looks bloody tight under there :-)

Anyone got a set of servicable Impreza WRX blobeye shocks??? go for new shocks, got a set of excel G's (KYB as per original equipment) for ours, our rears were knackered and turned the car into a shopping trolley so would be worried about putting used shocks on and then they fail. Cheapest place for these were a company on eBay based in Leatherhead, don't know where you are based in the south east. p.s have boot pond, dull headlights and grotty wiper arms too! It's a Subaru thing!

If I was being good I'd do the tappets on the LR and oil changes on the daily ones. Top of the list doing something proper is to get the spare rear leaf springs apart, clean them and put them back together as the springs on the back are in a bad way. To do this I need to borrow a friends Oxy kit. Must ring and organise collection tomorrow ! So essentially nothing of great note. Work / general mojo is low as can't do the bit of my job I enjoy without travelling.
Of more interest is the boys plans to get a family friends old tractor over here and running. Might need some bigger spanners....
Does a 1969 tractor count as a retro ride ?

Well the last lockdown started as working from home , then after a month got furloughed and then made redundant after 22 years with same company , unemployed since July so this lockdown can't be any worse.
Since July ,Dads had a stroke, Mums been hospitalised twice with Heart issues and I'm now on anti depressants!.
All the time in the world but no money to invest in projects beyond JSA payments as need to eek out the money.
So for me its about what can I repurpose or womble, or what can I do that needs time rather than money , or what can I weigh in. Still my welding is coming on and now have 6 rehomed chickens to distract me in the run I built from all recycled materials its amazing what you can get from Marketplace.
So whatever anyone is doing just enjoy the time and don't stress

I have much more time than money or motivation at the moment, so finishing off half started jobs is the name of the game for me. Need to finish off polishing the lips on these split rims and build them up ready for sale (post lockdown) And between rain showers need to put some paint on the underside of the front of my MG and wrestle this front crossmember back into place If I can get it back on 4 wheels by the end of the 4 weeks I'll be happy Also need to give the daily Yaris some love, am overdue servicing the gf's car and my motorbike needs a good clean up ready for an MOT, not going to hold my breath though!

I’ll be working through lockdown but today my new progressive rate 1” lowered front springs arrived for Stag. I’ll be fitting these. Hopefully. Today, changed the fuel filter and cleaned out the Carb float bowl as there was some debris inside, I don’t think the old filter was doing much filtering.
