Found Jonny Smith’s interviews with Jason Plato & Matt Neal totally captivating and I it just seems like a couple of blokes chatting away with great stories. Love it. Realised the Video section has disappeared though! Individual interview with Plato Individual interview with Neal He draws reference to his dads Jaguar XJS. Amazing.

I miss Granstand on a Sunday watching BTCC. I honestly thought Plato was a massive door handle and Neil a legend at the time. It's been great watching the interviews with both of them.
If anyone gets the chance to watch BTCC live, go for it. I had a weekend at Thruxton once and it was awesome!

I am a big BTCC fan, normally watch live twice a year when possible (Brands GP/Indy + one other if possible) These interviews are GOLD. Honestly they are enthralling, captivating and cringeworthy all in one. Johnny has done amazingly well with The Late Brake Show (the Chris Harris one is excellent as is the Ian Callum one) They are chalk and cheese Plato and Neal, never really realised it before and it's never painted that way on TV etc with their rivalry but Plato is a massive extrovert and Neal an introvert. Totally opposite approaches to so much. But both utter legends, here's hoping they face off on track again next year......over 1200 BTCC races between them

64impala has been really working hard on all this content and it has really shown in the quality of it all. The amount of work involved in producing content this consistently and of this quality is huge. Hats off to him and the rest of the team.

Not watched it yet as my bed is calling, but I saw the thread and instantly thought "blimey, he's got them together!" so I'm looking forward to seeing it tomorrow.

These are incredible watching. Part 2 of the one with both of them is now out as well. Probably the best Youtube miniseries of the year.

I'm another huge BSCC/BTCC fan too, have been since the early 80s, which was a great decade to be watching motorsport generally. The RS500s and E30 M3s were just awesome, though 1992 will never be beaten as an overall season for me, it was great from start to finish and the final round was the icing on the cake.
I'll watch this later on as, love our loathe them, they are genuine characters who (in the current crop of drivers/way of doing things) aren't likely to be replaced. In the car, Plato has always had an air of Dick Dastardly/pantomime villain about him and I'm pretty sure he acknowledges the same and thrives on it, but in interviews etc he always comes across as an amiable guy, as does Neal.

Haven’t watched the final one but the first 3 parts are superb. Johnny is really good at making it a relaxed conversation.

I was going to post this, good job I didn’t as you already had!
Great interviews and I was quite emotional about plato’s message to Neal in his book.
I used to love BTCC back in the day and didn’t realise it was still on TV and raced to the same degree nowadays.
I’d love to know what kind of dirty sex Plato’s parents were up to!

I watched all four last night and this morning. I enjoy JS' youtube stuff a lot. He does that rare thing when interviewing, and lets the interviewee talk away. Both come across really well and I'm glad they aren't fighting in the pitlane these days.

I had the pleasure of meeting Matt Neal at the Motorsport show at the NEC about 15 years ago. A friend of mine was a marshall at Brands and thought he was a bit of a **** after an incident but I am thinking it's probably more down to him being shunted off and having a bad day as a result. Matt was a complete gentleman, very funny and real good sport. He wrote a personal message to a friend of mine who was having cancer treatment at the time - she's still with us, and has the message up in her Motorsport-themed downstairs loo. Epic!
Haven't met Jason Plato, but I would like to.

Haven't met Jason Plato, but I would like to. I met Matt Neal at Brands a couple of years ago and also found he was quite happy to chat with me about how his day was going so far and how much pain he was in from a previous shunt. I also met Colin Turkington on the same day and he wasn’t chatty at all.

Met Jason Plato once, propping up the bar at the ASCAR end of season prize giving..quite the worse for wear(but didn't swear as much as Nicolas Minassian!)..seemed a fairly honest bloke!
