As the twins got some rc cars for Xmas I thought it would be a good excuse to pull mine out the loft and play with them. My main car is a Tamiya Manta ray but unfortunately it seems my batteries haven't survived years of neglect. I'm looking for a good brushless conversion and don't even know where to start. Can anyone recommend a complete kit and batteries or individual components that would work? I'm not sure which gearing its currently running so any recommendations on that too if possible. Thanks in advance Tom

Go sensored. I use hobbywing esc's and speed passion motors. I'd probably go 17.5t in a manta ray.

As for batteries, lipo is where it's at, but I'm not sure if the manta ray has a restrictive battery tray. Measure before buying. I always use hard case lipos.

The battery tray is underneath so it it pretty restrictive. Can you get lipo packs in the same stick formation as the nimhh packs?

Yes. There are rounded ones too, if you need them, but make sure you check measurements carefully.

Any links for motors and esc combos? I've already ballraced the car and fitted alloy hub knuckles, shock towers, steering linkages and propshaft so I'm hoping it can take the extra power
