If you want to be REALLY trick, higher wattage quantum bulbs in the rear compared to the front will cause low pressure photons to suck the car forwards making it faster at night (avoid lit areas for maximum benefit) LOLz!!! ive only heard bad about ecotec, think of the weight its adding too

I can't believe they're still selling these, talking of smoke and mirrors merchants. www.broquet.co.uk/From the Broquet website FAQs, this is a masterclass in Bullplop and selling technique (my highlights and angry smartarse comments): So they don't really know. How about some wild supposition? (Remember this bit, it's a very important caveat...) (what scientific source?) So, it makes fuel burn better by giving it more favourable combustion characteristics. Or, it makes it burn better by making it burn better... So, it may have altered the molecular structure, in an unknown way, so that the reactions that make up burning progress more smoothly and quickly. Putting that another way, it's made it burn better. ... Made it burn better. Getting the gist? Yep, it's made it burn better. Now that just plain doesn't make sense. If more complete oxidation is carried out, the fuel has burnt more completely. More energy has been produced. Less heat would be produced if the engine can harness more of this energy as work, but that's got nothing to do with what the makers are claiming. Burning efficiently and an engine working efficiently are two entirely separate things. Now I don't know if this thing does make any difference (I very much doubt it), but it actually makes me angry that they try and blind people with Bullplop pseudo-science and take advantage. It's a cheap and nasty trick. Now, I'm sure the makers would claim that they honestly state they don't know how it works (covering themselves nicely; remember that caveat), they just give a nice long scientific-sounding explanation (essentially saying nothing) that people can choose to believe or not. If you say anything with enough authority people will believe it, no matter whether you stick a "probably" at the beginning or not. Anyway, must go, my high horse is getting restless...

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

don't forget to rotate your indicator bulbs every 3000 miles for a free power gain. clockwise or anti clockwise? Depends which side of the Equator you're on. If you're parked ON the Equator, you don't need to turn them, but you DO need to rotate the whole car instead. Hope this helps ;D

OK, explanation please.
The ecotek has now been palmed off on an unsuspecting ebayer and replaced with a short length of copper pipe.
The Primera has a trip computer which shows miles travelled, average speed etc. etc. One of its readouts is average MPG. With the ecotek on there it used to show about 35mpg which was slightly optimistic (I make it 31-32). With the valve binned, fuel consumption and performance are, to my great shock, completely unaffected. However, the trip computer is now showing 32mpg which is accurate to within about 0.5 mpg. Why?

Is the trip computer calculating mpg by vacuum? With eco tech "air leak" trip comp indicates 35mpg but is plus 3 mpg optimistic so around 32 mpg Without air leak trip comp indicates 32 mpg but is accurate to within 0.5 mpg so 31.5 - 32.5 mpg depending on which way the error is Does that explain it?

Un metered and poorly filtered air on the inlet side of any engine can never ever be a good idea in my opinion
While we are on the subject of "performance enhancing bolt on goodies" those PC cooling fans that you can fit before the throttle butterfly are really good - electrical turbochargers can't beat them NOT!!

We tested the Ecotek years ago, plugged it as it seemed to work. So I partially apologise. I was young (er), I didn't really care, life was much simpler* *one of those statements is a lie But what about that foam stuff that came in a can for cleaning your chambers out, something 'Ten'? Now that was the shizz, they gave us a grand each to buy a snotter. Sell out? Me?
