Does anyone have any good ideas for how to stop floor mats from going squiffy? The driver's side one in my Lexus is forever moving. They do come with plastic clips at the rear from the factory, but they pop out regularly. I'm wondering if some sort of velcro might help? Thanks. (Mat now out for a wash!)

Interested to know the answer to this. The driver's mat in my Falcon does a similar trick.

Would some of that anti-slip mat with loads in holes in it work? There's loads on ebay.

You can screw them down to the underlay. Ordinary wood screw will do the trick. Two little screws at the back under the front of the seat, you'll hardly see them. Watch out for the boys at the hand car wash ripping them out though.

My Audi coupe had little "pegs" screwed into the floor just in front of the seat, and the official Audi mats have holes in them to fit over the pegs. I think the official TT mats have a similar thing, but I haven't got any - every time I have that sinking feeling that my clutch is on the way out, or that performance is off, I remember that it's probably just the mat sitting under the pedals again.
Like this, and I'm really sorry this is a silly Youtube video with daft music rather than a proper web page:

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, I may well give the screws a go, the carpet is quite thick so it shouldn't damage the floorpan. I suspect the anti-slip matting won't work I'm afraid, the existing mat already has an anti-slip rubberised backing which isn't effective. I've got some in the garage somewhere though so worth an experiment... The existing mat clips are these, they don't hold for very long:

In my wife's CRV, which has aftermarket rubber mats, I made a hole in the mat and secured it to the seat frame with cable ties.

I have used these turn button fittings (bottom right of first picture with 2 screw holes)on both our MX5 and Range rover. On the range rover I screwed them into the floor on the mx5 a tab screwed to the front of the seat crossmember.
