Hi all, I was hoping to go to the Yorkshire Motorsport festival this weekend. It was billed as a northern goodwood and I was quite excited about it as we don't seem to get many decent shows up north. But from the little I can gather online it seems it's been a bit shambolic organisation, and has got off to an underwhelming start today. Does anyone know anything about it?
I'm sympathetic to covid challenges and I don't really want it to flop, as I want more shows up north. But neither do I want to pay £20 a head to drag my family around a half empty field.
Anyone there already today or planning on going?

Seen lots of cars heading towards that way over last couple of days. Annoyed that this is still on but Sheffield Steam rally got cancelled at the last minute.

I have a ticket for tomorrow, but I'm in two minds as to whether to go.
Yes, I did pay £20, but that was because the organiser of the group stand that I'm displaying on was under the early impression that it was £10. She offered to subsidise the extra £10 when she found out, but I felt bad to accept her offer as she felt terrible.
I've heard from her tonight that the organisation on site is pretty shambolic, and it seems like it's being run by an outsourced security company who don't seem to know much at all.
It's a 200 mile round trip for me, with accompanying fuel costs, and four hours of driving, plus a really early start in the morning. I'm old and knackered, and I'm very much in two minds, although I feel like I was letting the group stand down if I didn't go. I'm taking the Tomcat down if I do go.

Given that this is 40mins from me and I didn’t know it was on, it doesn’t seem they’ve advertised it much.

Decided I had better things to do with my day than do a 200 mile round trip to a show that's getting panned as a shambles all over social media.

I only heard about it via a facebook group I'm in. I didn't go in the end either, so not sure how it went. Looking online it appears a few interesting cars were doing the hillclimb, though quite a few seemed to be saying it was hard to get a decent view of the action. Maybe next year!

I know the roads they were using for the hillclimb well. Can't see how there'd be much spectator space at all.
