I've got to pick something to do for a stag do next year (I should have been married 15 months at this point lol) and I reet fancy going to watch a European hillclimb if Covid allows.
Any recommendations on a course to visit?Am I correct in assuming there are camp sites nearby rather than having to faff about with hotels?

www.berg-cup.de/I have been to the Eschdorf rennen a couple of times, it's usually in May. Can't really tell anything about camping as it's easily done on the day from where I live as it's in Luxembourg. Good vantage points, fast bits, slow bits and you can stand right next to the start line. Another good one I visited (a long time ago...) was Homburg but they had less good vantage points. But a proper German-sausage-on-a-bun stand in the woods. If you choose one where the kw bergcup guys run, you can't go wrong. Not sure when they announce next year's plans. This year they haven't run on the mountains yet, only some proper circuits.

And 1 thing I just remembered, most of the time the Homburg date is the same weekend as the rally around Trier / Daun. Last time I went, there was a huge field of group b cars running in the demonstration class. They weren't going for prized, but weren't hanging about either! Might be a thing to look out for if they do it at the same weekend again next year. They are about an hour away from each other.
