I realise I'm a year out so please remove if its not acceptable! I feel like it might be being an X308?
So I'm selling my Jag because I've just taken a lower paying job for the sake of my mental health and I can't really justify using it for my 25 mile a day commute anymore. I'm gutted as it's the best Jag I've owned; I've had a 2003 X350, 2001 XJR and a X300 Xj6 and this is the best of the lot.
I've used it daily since October racking up 25 miles a day. Since I bought it I have done the following:
Fitted XK8 Revolvers with matching Pirelli tyres
Replaced the front wheel bearings
Replaced the battery
Changed the oil and filter
Fitted stainless exhausts (rear section)
Lowered it on good quality springs (it still rides beautifully)
Had any chassis rot identified, chopped out and replaced with fresh metal.
I was going to keep this one for longer but my job change had made it unrealistic; I've had to go uber efficient (see my Smart Roadster thread). That being said, it's not awful. On my daily commute it averages 26/27mpg over the week. If I use it only round town it drops to high teens low 20s.
It's an SE, which was only made for a year. Basically, it means it has all the toys!
Things that don't work:
Driver's heated seat - relay and switch are fine so I think it's the wires between the seat pads.
Parking sensors - constant beep in reverse means 1 or more have failed.
Heated screen - this does work but some of the elements don't heat up.
That's it - everything else works including ice cold air con.
It starts, runs and drives like a dream. Sounds incredible with the stainless rear sections but once up to cruising speed is nice and quiet. It doesn't stop a speck of fluid at all.
There is some bubbling on the arches and wings here and there but it's generally tidy. Chassis is solid - my friend f had it up on the lift and identified any areas that needed replacing and went through them all. This includes the infamous spot above the front springs.
The interior is an absolute treat - uber comfortable and remarkably clean. It has a new headlining so no worries there.
Comes with £4000 worth of receipts and only has 97k on it. There's no evidence of tensioner change unfortunately but they are nice and quiet and being last of the line it does have stronger ones fitted as standard.
I've got it up for £2650 which feels about right. If it had the tensioners done, and the bubbling tidied I think it would be closer to 5k given the mileage and overall condition
I think I've covered most points but let me know if I've missed anything.
Pics to follow when my kids give me a chance 😂
