I am a new user so please be gentle with me.
I have owned Loads of Retro Rides over the years - A35 with Cooper engine, twin cam Lada Niva , Volvo 240, etc etc. Mainly Vdubs though. But never got round to joining here. Have now!
A very good friend of mine has recently passed and I am helping his partner with any boys/garage type affairs.
There is a Mitsubishi Sapporo that is in (from my amateur Japanese car eye) very very good condition along with plenty of parts from a second car.
Who are the experts on here I need to ask for a valuation?
This isn’t a for sale thread, a scam , a picture hunters monkey spanking thread and I won’t be answering “how much mate?” PMs, sorry.
if my mate was a member on here (and I’m certain he was), I will find a link to the car/build thread.
Just looking for a market value and idea of the spares package price so his partner isn’t taken advantage of.
Thanks 🤙

Cars like this are really difficult to value - it's really worth what you are willing to pay and that depends on how much you want it, whether you're keeping it long term or short term, and a whole host of other considerations.
If you want a valuation because you are afraid you might lose money on it, then probably best not to buy it . . .

Soz, maybe my original post isn’t clear. 😳
Need a valuation to assist my friends widow to sell it. Not for me to buy.
Saw one on the for sale section here for £6800 but not sure it was better or worst spec. Didn’t look as nice to my amateur eye.

Those cars have definitely been on here before.
I nearly bought the white one about 15 years ago when it came up on eBay. Remember the COW number plate. Back then it was <£1k but so we’re a lot of things that are now very pricey.
Very rare now I wouldn’t be surprised if £6000 upwards could be got for both, depending on condition of course.

Firstly, sorry for your loss, your friend certainly seems to have built a very nice Sapporo!
As you say, there was one for sale on here for £6800, looks like there was another one for sale on here in 2018 for £7000 and a turbo one in 2017 for £6500. So around the £6-7k mark seems a reasonable place to start
I notice it's out of MOT but would be exempt now anyway, has it been kept in use or will it need some recomissioning? Will affect the price.
Might also be worth considering selling the second car separately as with the two together, you limit your potential buyers to someone who has space for two of them!
I'm no expert but those are my thoughts anyway, always hard to value rare cars like this, Japanese stuff and Japanese retro, rear wheel drive stuff in particular has shot up in price, but the rarer cars that people aren't necessarily looking for don't always command the big prices.

Cheers chap 🙏
This is from memory but I am pretty sure I have this correct …..
The white one was bought as it was manual and the brown one was originally an auto.
The white one was use as a donor to convert the brown one to manual. I believe the work was done by resto shack in Exeter. Or they possibly were commissioned to sort the metalwork/pedal box out at least.
The white one has gone but was picked clean and think engine/box and lots of other parts including class and trim are still about.
It’s always been garaged in the best part of ten years it’s been owned. I think putting it through an MOT would be the way forward.
Cheers for your kind words. 🤙

I'd try and get some info from resto shack, they have a great reputation for quality work.
Maybe see if there is a sapporo owners club you could advertise it with.

Don't forget Covid or whatever has seen a huge increase in classic car prices. I'm no expert but I'd be advertising way above the £7K of previous ads.
As a salesman friend of mine said, when a buyer is standing in front of you - you can go down, but you can't go up.
£9995 gets my vote.

Sad to hear about this. It's a stunning car. When you do get round to selling and settle on a price, the classifieds on here might be a good place to start. It's free to list, it's the sort of car people on here like and the fact it's a known car on the forum is always a plus.

Condolences on your loss, it's hard having to go through sorting through their lifes belongings.
I had a quick look at a Japanese car sales site and a similar car (the only one I might add) is £11.5k frieght on board, so plus shipping and taxes.
Id be tempted to list the brown one at £11.5k as it looks really nice.
