I need to fill some holes in an alloy floor created by galvanic corrosion. Its non structural.
I bought some special rods for this but not that impressed. Only using butane so could be lack of heat?
Anyway, looking for recommendations as to best solution.
Thanks in advance!

I used them to fix an ac pipe with a butane torch and it worked a treat, you do need to get it spotlessly clean though.
I guess it takes more heat for a larger panel though.

Not all rods are created equal.
The cheap ones melt at a very high temperature which makes them practically useless on aluminium.

Any recommendations as to brand? Got no issues paying for quality but having issues identifying a good one.

Durafix are the ones normally suggested. I've tried them and the cheap ones, the difference is night and day.
SIF also do some, but I've not tried those.

Try using a strip of the parent material

I've received the Durafix rods and the good news is they work, I have to practice a but more to get the finish I want but first try is very encouraging. I think the massive heat from the new Torch helps a lot I cant see my original plumbers torch getting the thicker alloy warm enough.
