BBC News - Sir Frank Williams: Formula 1 team founder dies aged 79 www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/59453378Growing up, I can't say I liked him. But hearing others talk about recently has made me view him in a different way. Take a look from 5 minutes on in this video with Jason Plato and Jonny as an example. Motorsport in the UK would have been very different without him.

A dedicated team owner and racer who created a team and kept it at the top for the best part of 20 years, collecting nine constructor and seven drivers championship wins along the way. Quite an achievement by anyones standards. Iconic machinery too, if you like motorsport, which I do.

I watched a documentary on Netflix about him - never realised that the accident he had was his own fault. He'd been driving too fast in an effort to catch a plane.
A great shame but not entirely unexpected as I understand he hadn't been well for a while. We won't see another like him. Thoughts are with his family. RIP.
