Been buried under a mountain of work (both day job and RR stuff), but found time in between things to get this edited and online, I'm really rather pleased with it, nice subject and some great choices from VIP and rmad:

Back inside cover of Street Machine sometime mid to late ‘80s (‘86-‘87 maybe) I think, there was a pro street Camaro (‘68 I think) in primer, no bonnet and blower sticking out… it looked slightly scruffy, mean and cool
Not got the mag, and haven’t been about to find it on the internet (maybe Rmad has a photo in the carchive)

Other than that, the Beardmore minor as a van and a pickup and



Colin Burnhams cal look beetle, doesn’t look that wild now maybe, but I was 13 and it was certainly the one I remember



And locally, or fairly locally, Steve Green ran a mk1 Cortina in the Rover V8 challenge

Cars that inspired me?? Well being 53 now
The late 70s and 80s builds for me inspired me to get into the car scene
Winston sewells superb rover coupe I remember firstly hitting the streets in grey primer around Bexleyheath
The car was and still is one of the finest custom cars ever built
And the man is top person, has time to talk to anyone and has no big ego, he really was the person who inspired me to play about with my mk1 escorts when I was 16
I speak to him at many shows now and he recently taught my son car mechanics at north Kent college



So mk1 escorts?? Before they were ridiculously priced and I regularly bought them for peanuts
Well Kevin Jenkins mk1 was a big inspiration for a 15 year old lad, his son sent me some pics a couple of months ago
Kev now races the fraudster another mk1
His red car just had the stance and the look before all that south London look nonsense started….we built em first in Kent




And without doubt the car I’ve always said I’d own over any car in the world…yep you can keep your veyron

Just the ultimate for me and growing up in Bexleyheath to see it thundering through our high st made life unreal it was such a well known car

I had a look round that rover at the London cartel show a couple of years back and I was impressed. I like to see a car that was built a good few years ago and is still tidy which is testament to a quality build in the first place.

A 1969 1275gt that knocked about local to me in the late 80s and early 90s inspired me and I think the guy still owns it but it has not been on the road since the 90s. I would love to get the chance to own it.
