For sale is my Japanese import 1991 1.6 Eunos Roadster.
Unfortunately after 8 years of ownership I feel it’s time to move on and try something else, and to let someone else finish the project. It’s the perfect base for someone who wants a solid, high-quality road or track MX5. I desperately don't want to sell it but I'm not making the most of it.

Details:
166,000 km
10 months MOT, clean passes the last two years and a very clean history
2 UK owners including me
Purchased by me in 2014 on 137,000 km
Imported in 2006 on 131,000 km
A lot of high quality parts, sought-after JDM parts and decent a spec listed below
Good bits:
Incredibly solid car. I completely stripped the underside of components in 2020, treated what little surface rust there was and used Dinitrol to prime, underseal and cavity wax, including behind the fuel tank. The bottom 2” of rear arches were replaced where they meet the sills, and a small patch underneath passenger front wing. This was done professionally and I have pictures showing before the work was completed. The inner structures had minimal surface rust so were treated and loaded up with protection. The original spot welds on the rear arches are still visible. Underbody and cavity protection was topped up using Lanoguard this year. Rear subframe, prop, diff casing, PPF and all suspension arms were stripped and painted with Bonda-Rust primer and Frost Chassis Paint. Lots of fixings replaced so components like the front bumper will come off without a fight.
The car is already full of high quality and some rare Japanese components. The car was built well by myself to drive well on street and track, and be reliable which it certainly has been. In my opinion the chassis , suspension and brakes are perfectly specified for the car up to ~200bhp (I was aiming to supercharge).
Bad bits:
Paint is typical of original Crystal White paint. It’s very faded and has patches where the top coat is flaking. Some parts have been touched in with an Aerosol which after a few years has started to discolour a bit. Rear panel and wings have been resprayed in professional 2 pack paint, not perfect but a decent job, however they ideally still need cutting and polishing. Headlight lids were resprayed using awful “2 pack converter” which doesn't work. Overall it needs a good respray.
Small amount of rust coming through on the bottom of the doors and edges of the sill covers. But that is all the rust!
Currently has an odd vibration at ~65mph. Not awful, but there. Has only appeared since I last rebuilt the rear end and changed some components. I suspect it’s a driveshaft and will try to fix it before it goes. The diff has been changed since and not affected the issue, so I can confirm it is not the diff.
