Hot Rods and Customs at The Modified Nationals

Well, we saw the Max Power late model stuff and the Mad Max rat stuff so here is the hot rod and custom element to the show.

First off, Hall 1. And we start with "No More Mr Nice Guy" a car I have loved since like for ever.











Then this rather interesting rat build

















Those of you who went know there was another build near this which was very interesting but I'm saving that for its own thread shortly...

So then there was a separate hall for hot rods and so on. Some cool stuff in here for sure. Some I was less into. Some that made me flip my wig. There was also a rockabilly live act playing, obviously.

I love Pops. Either trad Brit style or gasser works for me



But a flamed Thames van version? WOOT!

This 1932 Standard 9 (IIRC) was a multi show winner and a proper driver. Nice chap was telling me all about it. Some slightly rude folk getting in his car to take selfies!

Grille is from a Rover P2 or P3, body looks like a Morris (12 / 14?) - interesting looking machine, especially the wheel choice, and the whole effect is very cool!

I've got feeling Jonny Smith did an episode of the Late Brake Show on the rod above. I'm not sure how I feel about it - from some angles it looks great, others less so. Overall its more my cup of tea than some of the other stuff on the other threads though.

Personally, I'm all in on the Gasser Pop, and the Fordson is pretty cool too.
