I think its Belgium but I can't find it by searching. Anyway, years ago there was a lot of cool stuff happening in some small town on the mainland over there, where like the whole town is given over to historic race cars and the like and they do road races, or hill climbs, or some such. Someone must know what I'm talking about? Where is it and when and is it still happening? Here's a cool Renault 4CV I did find while Googling as pennance for such a rubish thread.

Could also be Chimay (Belgium) where some of the surrounding roads are closed for car and bike racing and the race cars drive from the circuit into the town and park up for an evening's curse word up the night before the races.
I was last there in (I think) 2007, I don't know if it still goes on.

There is also the Grand Prix Des Pau Historique : www.grandprixdepau.fr/en/Which looks excellent, and clashes with RR Weekender

It may have been Chimay. I remember reading a report of it and the locals rent out their driveways to the various race teams who attend.... it was a small town. It was all saloon car type racing not open wheelers Anyway theres some other cool looking alternatives as well.... Thanks chaps. Any more suggestions also welcomed
