Hi everyone. I put a cheap Amazon car cover on my car - it was on for about a week or so. When I took it off I noticed that the paintwork had been effected. thumbsnap.com/gLheT3QzDoes anyone know if this can be polished out? Or would it need to be resprayed? Sorry if these are silly questions Has anyone else had this happen to their car? How did you fix it? Thanks. Omar

Start with a polish. See how it goes. Always start with the lease abrasive / aggressive approach and work up from there. Fingers crossed you'll be OK. Hard to see in a photo how bad it is
Burn the car cover in a ritual to apease the gods. Car covers are the work of the devil.
I've seen cars get paint rub to the primer and even microblister through use of a car cover. A mate has just had to have a full respray on his Vauxhall Victor because of this

Thanks for the advice. It’s pretty bad I think. thumbsnap.com/8FecRUG3I’m guessing I’ll need a respray but I’ll definitely try the polish. Thanks

That looks more like a chemical such as TFR has been used to clean and not been washed off properly . A machine polish might get it out

Leave it a week or two, some of it will dissappear again. Then carefully mop it a little. Car covers are terrible things - paint is designed to cope with the weather - better to just let it get dirty & wash it.

The drivers side door doesn’t shut completely flush - didn’t want the inside getting soaked in the rain

Is it single stage paint?
Looks like oxidisation, a light machine polish should lift that.
