Popped in to a pub which used to be my lunchtime local many years ago when I worked in the area
Frustrated in getting some fake old-time photos by the Ford Fiesta parked outside and the "Lease this pub" sign up on it. That sign is a worry.
This is a real old fashioned pub. Sat in a backstreet it has no music on (although I did spot a couple of gaming machines which I bet are noisy when in use). The place was quiet, I could only hear the odd conversations of other drinkers.
And they still serve "flat Bass" right from the cask by jug. Still has the old gas lamps (although they have been converted to electric now)
Probably the shortest "road trip" but I did enjoy it and its great to see such an old fashioned pub still doing its thing. For now.
