...A 1993 Ford Probe What should I do with it? Its in fine fettle, and probably worth some monies, but I have a massive urge to just weigh it in and do the world a favour! Or should i MOT it and just drive it till its dead? Help...

I've always had an urge for one of these... for some reason they remind me of the old shark nosed bm's... could do with a bit of (dare I say it) spoilerage.. at the back.. to balance it out a bit.. and a bit of sharpness at the front to offset all those curves.. No shop at work.. so you'll just have to imagine it for yourselves...

If it's the one in the photo, doesn't look half bad anyway! ;D
Tasteful alloys (if not the ones in the pics) would probably make the world of difference to an otherwise fairly normal looking car.

Hmm. Can't garner much excitement for these TBH.
MoT it and sell it to someone with no taste to barry up. Spend the money on CRACK'N'HOOKERS.

I quite like em. Stepdad used to have one, only the 2.0 version though, they arent that bad. The dizzy failed on him on a holiday in France once, a few days and £500 later he was back on the road. Owch!

But it's 'the new Capri', who can argue with that? Cut the springs so it's almost on it's bumpstops, put some Mondeo steels on it with no trims, rattle can it in a selection of colours picked up from an autojumble for a quid a can in a 'autojumble-camo' type look and you're away!

They sound like they'd go well with a bit of blue cheese. Err, nothing wrong with a Probe in my book. Keefy suggested some sort of Nascar look once didn't he? Then there's the old salt flat favourite. I be tempted by some black banded steel wheels (no really? ), some cleaning and a ridiculous whack of the stick. Seeing as you got it for free, you can't really lose money can you?

The most ridiculous name for a car. Ever. "Everything has potential" . I love the salt flats idea - that'd be fairly straightforward and effective. Either that or get brutal with some 10in wide rims, bubble arches and race decals

OR, paint bumholes all over it, and call it 'The Anal Probe' Hahahahaha bumholes!!!! ;D ;D Personally I think it would be a cool car with 1]Original floorpan chopped and replaced with elements of granada cosworth, allowing granada cosworth underpinnings to be bolted to it, and a transmission tunnel fabbed in, so it can be made RWD. Granada cosworth IRS or a ford live axle at the back would do nicely. 2] An MT75 manual box and the 24v Cosworth engine would be the right thing to do really. 3] Slam it and fit granada cosworth wheels, or those cool merc 5 spokes. 4] Take it to a ford dealership for a service, just to see the look on the technitians face 5] Take it to ford and say 'heres what you should have done... ...built a car that would have had a cult following and gone down in history as the new capri' (Instead they based it on the mondeo for cheapness, making it a boring vauguely sporty repmobile and its all but forgotten, only in history in terms of being in 'curse word car' books. All that work on a probe tho? FTS. Anyways, If its a V6 it will probably eat distributors until you get sick of replacing them.

I always thought the V6 engined Probe with the decent sized wheels and the skirts on it looked pretty good. It was the 2.0 with the tiny alloys in the style of ebay tenner a set wheeltrims that was a let down.
I believe it shares its oily bits with the Mazda MX6 which somehow managed to be an altogether nicer car though.

i'd say put it in a barn and pull it out one day before RR08. Drive your 'barn-look' Probe to the meeting and let everyone drive around the track/autotesttrack in it, special just-out-of-a-barn-trackdaycar ;D
