Hey folks, a fresh weekly chat thread. Currently on a train hurtling across the country so doing this on my phone. Expect A LOT of SEMA stuff this week (and probably next) as it starts on Tuesday and a bunch of build reveals will be happening. It is also Ultimate Stance in Telford at the end of the week for things a bit closer to home. Previous thread here: forum.retro-rides.org/thread/223330/chat-thread-2chat2furious-wc-24

Nice 8er! If you'd have described it to me I'd have probably not liked it but it actually works well.
For those of you that are in to BMWs you really should follow M539 restorations on Youtube, he's one of my favourite channels.

Loved 850's since a canary yellow one popped up in some little fella's video back in the day and i think the title sums them up quite nicely ( I wont post the full video it might offend nuns and kittens...)

More SEMA, this seems to be a bit of a pick for a lot of different folk so far http://instagram.com/p/CkZU5Llv7gI What I like about the event every year is there is something that usually ends up as a star of the show, but it often isn't one of the new big reveals or a big company build. The last time we went the Brown Sugar camper van was totally the star of the show. Think this Pinto is an early runner for that this year.

Not sure about the wheels on the cruising wagon, they don't gel with the 70s-ness and the fitment isn't aggressive enough for big diameter.

That RX7 is really something, somehow the Ferrari doesn't do as much for me, can't quite put my finger on it.
K swaps are becoming as ubiquitous as the LS swap 😅

I think the Ferrari has lost something in the colour change .
Seemed a bit more special/interesting when it was Yellow , now somehow looks bland .
That’s just my opinion , I still wouldn’t turn it down if it was offered to me !

Mike Stanceworks' Honda powered Ferrari 308 got revealed today. This sounds truly awesome, like some sort of weird Rotary/K-Series (not *that* K-series) mashup

I think the Ferrari has lost something in the colour change . I read somewhere that it is likely to go back to yellow and this is a wrap, but who knows with these things. I preferred it yellow too, but do still like the white.

I seem to remember him saying at the beginning he was going to try & keep it Yellow . Guessing the wrap is due to the arches not matching ?
Either way , think it’s a stunning build .

Not sure about the wheels on the cruising wagon, they don't gel with the 70s-ness and the fitment isn't aggressive enough for big diameter. Agreed. They tried to walk a line that wasn’t there. It needs to be firmly one way or the other to work. Thing is if they went full on ‘70s on 14s with big tyres it would be just another nostalgia build and nothing that interesting. Conversely the white lettering wouldn’t work on the tyres if the went fully stancey, so that would loose something too.
