Nice find! Now you need a Garfield and a couple of those black rubber anti-sickness strips hanging down off the back bumper...

I'm only a little bit jealous. One of the few period accessories I've not been able to find for the Maestro.

I always remember hating these as a teenager, thinking them unbearably uncool as everyone seemed to have them. Now they have a charm as they were a 90s throwaway thing and are almost never seen today. As for your Maestro vulgalour I'm not convinced a Maestro owner would have been likely to fit them 😃

rattlecan: I have been very tempted to get some waffle back driving gloves. Very tempted.

I'll have to find out where cjhillman lives and sneak in one night because that's about the only way you can get knucklebuffers these days XD To be fair, they're going to look right at home on the Escort.

Haha! I’m pleased I’m not on my own with the love for Knuckle Buffers. I still haven’t fitted them yet as my Escort isn’t near my house and I’m worried they’ll be removed by a passing child or something. I think these would look great on a Maestro, any 80s Rover or rusting unloved Ford. Although I thought about fitting them to my Capri but I don’t think it’s the right “vibe” haha. I did wonder if anyone else had a set on the forum… I guess just me though. Maybe I should re manufacture them? 🤣 Also, I do have a Flat Eric on the backseat and reflector door protectors on at the moment. Nice find! My dads hearing aid beige 85 maestro had the fingers fitted to the rear hatch when i started driving it in 1993.

I had those on my Alpine back in the early '90's and I've not given them a single thought since. Now I'm thinking I'd quite like a set myself. I wonder how hard it would be to 3D print some?

Funny how most remember them decorating rear hatches rather than protecting door edges as intended.

Those are the ones. As it happens, those are too small since I need a size 9 glove. If you're curious, measuring for gloves you put a cloth tape measure around the widest part of your hand (like taking a waist measurement) and note the measurement. Then measure middle finger tip to wrist and note that measurement. Whichever is the larger measurement of the two, round up to the nearest half inch and that's the glove size you need. The more you know. Although most gloves these days are sold on the much more vague small-medium-large sizing which is a useless system that tells you nothing about actual fit.
