I have this too. With the menu bar minimised it's fine, but with it open it isn't ideal. I think it would be better if the RH pane were always left justified rather than centre justified. The RH pane always seems to return to centre (if you scroll left/right and then release). Merely suggestions - many thanks to Hotwire for the great forum Edit: the edit button works for me. Using Edge (shudder) on my work laptop.

Not a complaint, it's an ask. When reading a thread several pages long and you go to next page, it switches page then stays at the bottom of the new page. Logically you would hope it goes to the top of the new page.
Also, could we have a button to go straight back to the top of a page, in a similar way to the little box on ebay pages.. Thankyou

Just seen the changes today
I don't like how more room is taken up with the banner which doesn't move as you scroll down
I hadn't noticed the old layout had something similar but it was smaller. It also had what i would call more useful functions (page number, actions and search)

Snowglobe yeah it is a current bug. That and the Firefox issues are currently the top 2 bugs I need to fix. Also still not entirely happy with menu behaviour at different sizes.

I've just realised the new info in the banner is in addition to what was there before
I don't think it needs to follow you as you scroll. It takes up room and the buttons can easily be accessed by scrolling up

Yeah that's my plan, not got to it yet, plan is as you scroll down the top banner disappears and there is just the pagination (going to the correct scroll location). Then if you scroll up a bit it re-appears.
I've got the info I need to do that, but will tackle this Firefox issue first.

Good news, all the problems are in Firefox (in addEventListener for the technically minded), Bad News I can't work out how to fix them yet... middling news, I kinda fixed the edit, but not the image upload, however I don't know why one is working and not the other, so fear it could still be buggy, which is almost more frustrating than something straight up not working.
Damn you Firefox!

Thanks Jimi! I just got here having read the thread. Hope I'm not giving Mr HoTWire more work. It sounds like he has enough to be getting on with! Edit - Yep I get a blank box when I try and edit in Safari (Version 15.4 (17613.1.17.1.6)) but this edit was done in Chrome and it worked. I have an MR2 update to do at some point so I'll try that in Chrome using my 'writing offline' workflow and see if it works better. Not tonight though. James Now editing in Safari as a test. Have a photo of my car wrapped up... Looking good!

Yeah I've noticed it adding blank lines at the end. I'm sure I can work that out. It is something to do with preserving carriage returns, which work differently on different computers, so the translation back to BBCode from the new editor adds some in, so each time you switch it adds more. Certain other things add in a carriage return at the bottom too. Will carry on with the Firefox issue today and then this carriage return problem (which I hope won't be as hard!)

I think I've solved the Firefox (and maybe Safari?) issue with edit and posting images. Have a picture of my car the day I bought it to celebrate. Posted in an edit in Firefox

Is this a desktop thing as I haven't noticed any changes browsing on Firefox mobile?

Using the Desktop mode on mobile? Or just the default Mobile view?
Default Mobile is unaffected... but I'm counting down the days until I'm happy enough with this to be able to turn off the default mobile site.

Just posted in the mini-vans thread. Pic uploader worked fine on the second attempt and kept the order they were uploaded in as well. Text did a weird thing where it started a new line for each letter until the word was finished, then added an extra space. Double tapping the space bar still doesn't get me a capital letter like the current mobile site does, but it does double up the first letter of the sentence! Altogether much better than before.
Next gripe - can I change the font? It's displaying in Gotham which I hate almost as much as Comic F*cking Sans...

Font should be Proxima Nova ... wonder if your browser/OS is substituting Gotham for some reason, even though this is set up as a webfont.
The weird text thing is a mobile browser issue with Trix, it is an odd thing that doesn't always happen. There is an open bug in about it. I think the steps to repeat are around pasting some text, and then going back to edit the pasted text. However I'm sure I've seen it happen without pasting text.
The double space and capital thing I'll look in to, I'm sure though that is a device interaction thing (like auto complete type stuff). Maybe it doesn't know that this editor is a text entry box, so doesn't do the capital.
I think next on the list is remove the confusion around the menu system, and make the top bar slide away when scrolling.
Then it is on to tidying up the mobile site, font sizes, padding etc. etc.

Just bringing back my things to do list from Monday:
Pagination not scrolling to correct location
Hide top bar when scrolling down, bring it back if user scrolls up (animate it if feeling fancy) Like, Reply, Quote and Edit to icons at lower resolutions
Editing issues, seems to be better than it was in what I've done over the last few hours, but likely still lurking problems around Quoting formatting causing issues (multiple problems here, but I think they are likely all the same root cause)
Image uploader problems (if I can repeat them) Quotes within Quotes definitely an issue still, need to work out a fix for that. Style Editor Switch button Participated section formatting
Adding: Mobile font sizes still a little erratic Padding/margins on mobile views Revisit Menu show and hide and spacing and interaction with main

Just edited my post above in Safari. All seems good now. I added a photo without problems and the 'Switch Editor' button seems to be working. I also had a problem with the contents when 'Switch Editor' did work. It was a jumbled mess but now it looks like it always did.
Well done and thank you! James

Thanks Sweetpea . I think the Switch Editor still has some issues, but I'll get to those, as they are really part of a wider set of issues with quoting and editing stuff. Right now the most common stuff is all working, so I'm happy with that. This evenings task is looking at paging again, and maybe the disappearing top bar when scrolling down
