I suspect its present operation is temporary, while fine tuning/bug fixes are going on. Normally with these type hamburger menus, you tap to open, select a link and it automatically closes and opens the selected link. Its a very common mode of operation on modern responsive sites. I may well be wrong in my guess, HoTWire will be able to confirm (or deny) if I am correct 😀

Yeah the menu and layout will get another look at after I've fixed these Firefox issues, and solved some of the other edit based problems. Which I hope to have all done this week, but the Firefox thing is not playing ball at the moment

Just a couple of observations which are annoying to me but maybe not others so much! 1) When clicking top left corner to pull down the menu, you have to click it again for the menu to collapse even though one has already made a selection such as recent threads. Can this not me changed so that it auto collapses after making your selection? 2) So you are at the bottom last post on page one of a thread, you click on page 2 but instead of it resuming at the top of the page, it positions itself at the last post on page 2. Hope that makes sense!
Point one is annoying less so point 2.
Thanks

Thanks 1) On desktop where the menu doesn't overlap anything on the page the menu should stay open, is this happening on a desktop or mobile device? I've just checked the code and it shouldn't be happening on smaller screens. I could actually remove the close button on desktop views as that would make a bit more sense, however I figured some people might like to close the menu to focus on the reading bit of the site. 2) is caused by a bug in the current ad code (which I've not been able to track down), which should be getting replaced at some point this week.

Great format, all seems to be getting smoother - especially since I have finally found the bookmarks button and how to collapse the menu.
I still have the issue that I have had for a long time, this is that the new button on bookmarks does not go to the first unread post of that thread but to the first post! This is on Edge and now Opera.

This is on Edge and now Opera. I'm not sure what the issue is with that, I've had it too, is outside of my control I think. However I do now wonder if it is related to a similar issue to the scrolling on pagination, like proboards code wants things to be 'just so' and if it isn't it doesn't want to work (as a developer I can imagine this being the case). I'll have another read up on the support forums and see if anyone else has had the issue.

Thanks for that, it has been driving me dilly for a long time - at least this and the last two incarnations of this board. I scoured the web for a fix a few times but never came up with anything. It did, however, work for this post. I wonder where the info is stored and if there is a cache or whatever that is being cleared.

That's my thought, as it seems to work sometimes but no others, I wonder if there is some expiration on a cache somewhere, could even be cookie based.

I do not empty caches or delete cookies because of this - as I said, it drives me dilly! I started a thread on here some time ago and nobody seems to have the same issue - it is consistent at least.

It is definitely a thing. I sometimes get it on a thread by thread basis, like some will work as expected and others will always take me to the first page when I click on the "new" button. Found an old support thread where someone (they join the conversation half way down) has the same issue : support.proboards.com/thread/467640/jump-newest-post-thread ... from 2013 I do wonder if maybe there is some issue somewhere with the new button and the link on the table cell for the first page of the thread. I'll have a play around with it and see if there might be something there as a problem.

On Brave the open menu does overlap the main section by a small bit. Just thought it could be a tad slicker if it auto collapsed. 2) Perfectly understood, time will tell!

So many fora that I used to be on have fallen away or have hardly any activity these days, especially since the Photofukkit ballsup.

I don't know if this is related to the new/updated forum, but I am now getting a sizeable banner ad across the bottom of my screen. It just started today and it's a tad annoying. Any suggestions please? Thank you.

Any suggestions please? Thank you. Yeah we're trying out some new ad technology,it'll take a little while to bed in as we get sizes and stuff right. Both from as provider and my side of things.

As noted above, I do appreciate the work that goes into the site, but... I can't hack this new ad banner that blocks the bottom of the page. Hopefully there's a solution...

getting used to it and quite enjoying it. This may have already been said but in case it hasn't, tonight I used the search function to find a thread. Specifically I wanted to find
the words: Micra Millie the Board: Readers Rides the author: Yoeddynz
and I searched. The search brought up exactly what I was looking for - all the posts, but I could not find a way to link to the actual thread. Ultimately I had to find Yoeddynz's profile and search his threads until I found it.
Hope this all makes sense. Thanks again!
