Hey Folks! Another week, another weekly chat, your place for stuff that may not warrant a full thread, or stuff that is just going on right now that you want to share. Well mobile went live and so far so good. Lots and lots of things to tweak and fix up, but I'm putting a list together and that will gradually come through. Finishing touches are being put to the RR Weekender 2023 video (yes it has taken this long), and work starting on Gathering one. We're also prepping for event launch in October, including exclusive Club RR ticket stuff. Also on the Club RR front I need a definitive way to gather everyone's tshirt size still, nothing so far has made sense, which is hugely frustrating, however this is the week I crack it. In car news... nothing, BUT this coming weekend is earmarked as Clean Up The Garage Weekend, so that should have some photos associated with it. Got my car working again and not poisoning me. I wouldn't say it's fixed as there are still a couple of jobs to finish, like that I've now not got a air filter lol. Need to get on top of the new tyres now, not massively impressed with the PS3's so far it's made the car very nervous feeling on bumpy corners.

Getting rapidly used to the new look forum, shan't be long till I've completely forgotten the old look 😅 Had central locking stop working on the Almera as well as the electric windows, found a blown fuse which then disintegrated as I tried to remove it 🙃 I'm hoping I just managed to briefly overload the system rather than there being an electrical issue for me to go find...

Tbh I’m still struggling with the forum changes a bit. Making posts isn’t too bad but browsing build threads is definitely problematic.
after achieving what I wanted to with the model A I’m planing on going back to being a builder for a while. I’ve got so many things to do around the yard to make winter much more pleasant and productive, and it would be good to get them done before the weather gets much worse.

More work to be done still, this isn't the destination, hang tight I've got to turn attention to other things for a week or so, then I'll be back on it. Might drop you a message to get some feedback/test some potential changes for me

I met up with David, the guy who exported the Rover 620 to the USA, he is over here for work and we met up at the BL Meet in Milton Keynes. Pics of that coming when I have 5 minutes
Been doing things to the Fiesta I meant to do ages ago. Again, pics comeing when I have 5 minutes.
Tidying garage, tidying house, general guff.
Spotted my old LS400 DHP is on Retroshite and wonder what that means for me - Ignore it? Buy a ticket? Make him an outright offer? Meh. Too many cars already.
Trying to sell some of my junk I don't need and finding that this brings all the loonies and scammers out of the woodwork. I'll list what I have on here - when I have 5 minutes....
Sorting out some last bits and bobs for the Humber. Hopefully that is just weeks away from coming out of the bodyshop.

So I click the next page number and it takes me to the bottom of it and not the top. Especially bad on pic heavy ones as it’s a lot fo scrolling to get back up. The other thing is the page numbers themselves- I’ve ended up in my profile and bookmarks untold times as the numbers are so close to the buttons for those. I do t really know if they can be move or something, but they’re too close for it to work well in mobile.

... when I have 5 minutes ... when I have 5 minutes. ... when I have 5 minutes.... That read like a poem. Or rather a song text, e.g. the Beatles "When I'm sixtyfour...". Seems like a big plan for only 5 minutes!

Yeah the paging is a long running issue, I thought it was the ads setup, but I removed them all as a test and it didn't fix it. So isn't that, I asked on the Proboards support forum and no one knew what it might be. Will have another go at that. I also have the problem with the paging and the miss clicking. The guidance is to have the buttons about four times larger, but it is toooooo large then. I'm thinking about hiding the entire top nav, including paging when scrolling down, then showing it when you do a little scroll up, like how the main nav works right now. Would mean we can have lovely large buttons for paging.

Happy with new RR layout. Went to a 2nd car show this year last Sunday. Have cleared vast amounts of tat from my garage and emptied the project Escort to access. Started making space for a mobile home, behind the garage, to live in. Daily driver dies so car searching is happening. Suspended from work after initiating legal proceedings against them Busy busy.

A very clean looking, rather rare Xedos 9 for rather cheap, unless it looks much nicer in photos that it actually is 😅 Looks like a good buy to be honest.

Well we ran out of ad free again, which is even earlier than last month, so that is all very good. Currently trying to renew it, but it is throwing an error, so hang tight everyone. In Show news, we'll be doing announcement of show dates on Monday, and tickets on sale Friday. Will also be doing the Club RR Discount Combo ticket too

MoT retest get! I've a service to do and a few fun cosmetic things I'd like to wrap up and then it's up for sale because I've done what I want to do with this one. Hopefully it'll find a new owner willing to continue the 90s survivor thing its got going on and give it an easy semi-retirement. Attention now turns more properly to the Princess which doesn't need a huge amount of work but does need a few big-ish jobs like replacing an outer sill, a couple of wheel arches, and a few smaller jobs like rebuilding a rear brake and doing a few cosmetic items.

Doesn't Ctrl-Home take you back to the top, or are you on a phone?

Completed the interior period accessorising of the Maestro today, and installed the last couple of exterior items to complete the 'build'. This car will never be perfect, nor do I think it ever should be. It wears its years and considerable miles quite openly. The idea was to lean into that and make it look like tatty old stuff did in the 90s. A scruffy roof rack and a towbar for a little box trailer would complete the scene very nicely. Maybe a few holiday pennant stickers in the rear window and a sunstrip on the windscreen. That's something for the new owner to consider if they want to continue down the nostalgia path with it. It's a silly project and that's okay because it makes me happy and I achieved a goal of getting a nostalgia hit from my efforts on it. Puts me in a good mood for the weekend.
