Electric motor speed controller

Hi, Looking for recommendations for a speed controller for a belt sander I'm building . it's only running a 1.1kw single phase motor. just need something basic to do the job.

If you can fit a 3 phase motor you can use a VFD for speed control.
VFD will have 1ph input and 3ph output.
