The usual New Year old car meet that I go to is no longer (the pub that hosted it has closed), so went to this one instead with metroman , having liberated my uncle's MGA. We were one of the first cars to arrive, but it soon filled up, and the weather was better than forecast fortunately too, so it was a very pleasant morning!
Below are all the pics that I took - a very varied selection of machines.
MX5 just behind the MGF was in the middle of a thorough rolling restoration - lots of body reconstruction done, and awating the respray.
Rose Taupe Minor brought back memories of my first car, which had originally been this colour (& still was inside).
This had a very '80s interior too, complete with LCD instrumen panel.
Super Snipe was a '47 - don't know if the colour was original, but looked it.
Couldn't resist taking this pic to compare it to the Lanchester behind.
Quite heavy on US cars too.
P4 is an ex RR car!
Really liked this 2000 on TR6 steels
This was one of two Farinas - the other was an (also black) Oxford, which was also immaculate.
Not seen a Minor in this colour - early 1000 (948cc)
Looking at this in the pics, it appears to have some sublte tweaks (blacked out grille slats & banded wheels?) which certainly look good!
I still miss the Minor van that I had as a first car...
Then just as we were leaving, this Trojan arrived. I've seen it about locally, so it was good to chat to the owner.
Apologies for the poor pic - didn't realise that it hadn't focussed properly...
