I happened across a pair of these engines. 1 is supposed to be in relatively good nick but without enough bits to make it go. T'other has all the missing bits ,but is currently locked up. Just enquiring what people think??

Depends how much they are. They have several common problems that can make a "running" engine actually need a fair bit of repair work. Lovely bit of engineering though.

Lovely engines. Auto box kills the loveliness so you want to try get them on a manual box. I note that even in the owners club we are starting to see complaints that parts are difficult and expensive if you need to do much more than service them.
Some ingenuity and so on though... I love 'em.

Have you bought them yet? Lovely engine although potentially a money pit (you can't take it with you )

A small displacement hemi V8? Funky engineering? Reasonably light weight? Would look cool in, well, any old-school hot rod? Like either of the two you're building? Have you bought them yet?
I am aware that I've just written an entire paragraph how a typical Australian speaks. Sorry.

Steve is the man for these iirc God knows why you'd think that As others have said.....its a mixed bag. Great engines in working order but making/keeping them as such is not a cheap or easy task nowadays. Martin Robey still hold stock of a fair amount of parts last I checked but anything piston related comes with a price and some bottom end bearing sizes are getting harder to find. I've got two of these, one to build up and a scrap spare but never had the coin to put one together so they sit waiting...... My 2pence worth

Well. He is proving difficult to nail down. Either he is away or whatever, whenever I can call. However he is apologetic so I remain hopeful.
