Oh wow 😮 how time flies!
I joined January 2005 and I’ve suffered from stress related to modified retro rides since, mainly unfinished projects or a complete lack of reliability - thanks 😂
Congrats guys - here’s to the next 20?!

Unfinished projects? I have a '51 Vanguard that I semi dailied for a while in the 80s then parked up. It hasn't moved under its own power since.

Think the tenacity to keep anything going for 20 years needs applauding... and something online with the various challenges of a technical nature, but the human factors of trolling and squabbling is an amazing achievement. The fact it's essentially free for users(but with optional paid members) but doesn't hide content behind paywalls is another element that really deserves more recognition. I'll confess I'm one of those folk whose presence and posting can be incredibly sporadic... I'm dreadful at updating build threads, my oldest is buried in the garage under junk(but I'm vowing to sort that with the aim of Street Weekend 2025) and ongoing stuff that I haven't posted either.

Happy birthday to my favourite Corner of the internet. I think I joined in 2008 and it's been the top bookmark on my devices ever since. Thank you for everything!

I think I joined in 07 or 08 when there was a mention in PVW or Retro Car. Had a Datsun 1200, 2.3 16v Benz and a MKI GTI at the time. I’d still be OK with that lineup. Here’s to 20 more!

My profile says I joined in 2013 but I was on here long before that under another username but I forgot my password, couldn't get it reset, so just created another profile. Clearly I like it here! I don't post much but love a good browse at some of the fantastic build threads and general chat always seems to have something interesting to read. It's a great online community and the best part is, in a world increasingly focused on 'social media' which I've zero interest in, it's a forum! Thank you for all the hard work, here's to more retro goodness.

Congrats from me as well. I have only been here about 7 1./2 years, but have loved every minute.
RR is also my first bookmark on my computer. Although I haven't met anyone on here, I somehow think that we'd all be able to talk to each other and find topics of amusement within a few seconds of meeting. And that speaks volumes.

Happy Birthday RR! I joined Mar 8, 2004. after a article in the new Retro Cars magazine issue 2 or 3 promoting the forum. My 1990 K10 Micra was only 14 years old at the time and thanks to the forum I have never owned a car that 'modern'ever since! I haven't posted anything for ages but do still check in the forum at least once a week.

Congratulations RR! I got my first car 19 years ago this month, nearly as long as RR has been in existence!

It's awesome that it's survived the social media onslaught. Huge amounts of information has been lost as niche forums have disappeared due to lack of visitors, and social media is useless for searching out old posts unless you know exact keywords that might be picked up. this, and while this isnt the forum (har har) for gettign into details about the ins and outs of why, its sad how many forums i used to frequent, automoive or otherwise that have vanished or are virtual wastelands, I'm glad RR seems to have bucked that trend... facebook groups and discord servers are really not viable replacments annyways.. 20 years.. damn, i wasn't here at the very start, but still a good 16 years ago, damn has it really been that long. Have only just got back into the habit of posting here for various reasons, but nt going anywhere while this place is still around, and still ran by people who actually care about the subject being talked about here, IE cool old stuff with wheels

Happy Birthday! That 20 years has flown by that's for sure!
It was mid 2004 when I noticed an article in the Retro Cars mag for the forum.

Amazing and frightening. According to my account I signed up in 07, but given the car I know I was building at the time I suspect I was actually on in some capacity close to 04. Hard to believe it has been 20 years. I dropped out for a while but have been glad to find the community still thriving in the last few years.
Well done!

I can't believe I've been here for 12 of those years... I haven't even owned a decent retro in the past 7-8 years and I still can't stay away.
Keep it up team RR!
