Hey Folks! Another week, another weekly chat, your place for stuff that may not warrant a full thread or stuff that is just going on right now that you want to share. I did it, I went to a show, and I started a thread on the previous show I went to. Volksworld report should be available a bit quicker than the GNRS one, although I guess now I'll be updating two show threads! I've actually been a bit disconnected from the forum for the last week or so, since I made some changes to the layout. Clearly they are NOT good changes as it has made the site a little less engaging. So I'm working through those to make them actually make sense and make it easier to use and more engaging (which was the idea). Really feels like show season is rolling now that Ultimate Dubs and Volksworld have come and gone, next up for me is Wheels Day. What you got planned? Dealing with lots of things I really don't need to be dealing with on a family side of things. Just keeps on getting more depressing there. However... Over the weekend went to Coventry to see an arts commune thing which is in a building which is reputed to be the UK's first purpose built car show room, built in 1910 for Rover. Some of the stuff on the Majestic is now sorted from its little faux pas before with the electrical issues and also got it running a lot smoother with the help of a local old car jobbing mechanic type. Nearly bought 2 Daimler Conquests and then didn't buy either of them, luckily enough Bought a lot of "Austin Seven Specials" books from way back.... Got the Rover rad recored. Not back in the car yet mind put some miles on the Minor and enjoyed that. Took the Austin 7 on some erands. That thing is a whole lot of fun. Got a message from the chap I bought the Wolseley off. The DVLA wrote to him this week to ask if he sold the car... FFS, he sold it me in like September last year. V62 process is SLOW This week I am picking up more project car parts from here and there

Sold Mrs B's Yaris at the weekend (to her sister - easiest transaction in the world!). We'd done less than 400 miles in a year in it, so it wasn't cost effective to keep, even with just £35 per year tax. That leaves us with the Merc, and the Midas - which at the moment is still a static display item. I enjoyed working on it again though, so I will do some more this week. I also *might* have potentially acquired some time with my friend who is excellent at electrics to come in and connect wires to things (I am hopeless at electrics). Not sure what I will be doing in the garage. Probably nothing in the inside of the car. "Why?" I hear you ask? Well, my efforts at contorting myself into a Midas footwell in a small single garage has somehow left me with a pulled muscle. In my groin of all places (awaits usual smutty jokes). I have no option but to treat myself more gently this week!

Got myself a little pug 205 and I couldn't be more chuffed to have a retro project again. Here to pick up where I left off 10 years ago. Going to the gathering last year gave me the itch that just had to be scratched.

I've done nothing more than run the car up to temperature and move the USB power socket to a more suitable location, in preparation for what turns out to be my first event of the year on Easter Monday. I had planned a few Sunday morning things, but the weather has stopped me so far. Now I have one or two leaking wheel cylinders to look at as the fluid level had dropped quite a bit when I was checking over the car prior to starting it.

Finally some sunshine out there, really feels like the year is getting going now. I bought myself a proper document scanner before Christmas in the hope of digitising the thousands of old magazines I have, and I've spent a few evenings this week getting stuck in to it. It's quite a quick process, or it would be if I didn't get lost for hours reading them before scanning... I might start a thread with some interesting old articles, in the meantime here's an Anglia with a Sunbeam Tiger V8 in, from CCC October 1969.

Now I've got my headlights working properly, I'm wondering if the lenses are going to need changing. Fairly sure these are sealed beam, but I genuinely can't tell where these dip to - left, right, or down. Will probably just buy a new pair as 30€ now is still less than a second trip to the RDW...

gtviva: It's not rusty if it's not there! People always reckon the Princess should have had a tailgate from the off but really it's capacious enough it isn't really necessary. Certainly didn't hamper the tip run requirements. I have now lost count of how many times I've parked up, got out of the car, and some random bloke has shouted from somewhere, "Is that a Princess?!". It's not every time, but it's not far off.

Today I finally gave the Princess a wash for the first time in weeks, possibly even months. Has a little bit of shine again. Have also been pleasantly surprised at the number of pink cars up here, so far I've encountered a Fiat 500, a New Beetle (with the plate H4 PNK), and a Nissan Micra. Looking forward to meeting more.
Of all the places I've lived, Lincolnshire also gets bonus points for having the most encounters with women, of all ages, keen to talk about the car and who are themselves knowledgeable and passionate about cars. Absolutely love to see it.
