Last weekend we had a SIMCA Club UK stand at the Classic & Restoration show at the NEC next to our friends from the MATRA club whose cars share SIMCA/Talbot mechanicals. We had 2 SIMCA 1000s... an early model from '64, a '76 1000SR part restored (this was once my car running a 1294cc engine with supercharger sucking through a big SU carb) that I put back to standard for the new owner, keeping the supercharger etc for a future SIMCA project. Also my SIMCA 1200S Bertone coupe was on the stand along with brother Kev's Late model MATRA-SIMCA Bagheera. We also had an engine display from our club engine 'guru' Phil Hart which included the supercharger mentioned above. Matra Club showed the later 3 seaters in the shape of Murenas, one mint condition and one 'barn find' along with one on MATRA's post SIMCA-Talbot based vehicles a Mk 3 Grand Espace.
