each to his own and all that, but I prefer to evaluate motorcycles by how they ride rather than how they look. Don't get me wrong, some of those bikes are amazing engineering, but they compromise their usefulness for the sake of their art to an unacceptable level IMHO.
A model T 'rod with all the trimmings can be used as a reasonable practical daily transport. One of the above can't really.
Don't agree with me? I know a good B road, I'll race you, you on the art bike, me on my Super Tenere.

Horses for courses though. They do what they were built for exceptionally well. They look sweet A Super Tenere isn't going to scoop any awards at a show now is it With regards to you Hot Rod analogy... well, I know of more than a few show cars in NZ that are unable to be used on a public road... reducing them to nothing more than a rolling work of art. One of these is a Civic putting out almost 400kw at the wheels....

That Alfa bike is a real favourite of mine...even without the Alfa lump the looks are pretty much spot on for me...although that's not the most flattering picture.

I know most people don't like trikes, but this is one we picked up as the next project. Reliant based, with a supercharger from a mini cooper s. Should be interesting!
