What are your predictions for this years car/modifying trends?
White cars are serious news in the whole VW scene, I could see that extending further, white car/black arch flares.. .yes please.
Ed/Brazilian slam seems to be gaining ground as a cheap radical modification.
Stanton/Slater/StealthStylz ridiculous wheel fitment could spark something I think. Injecting some more fun into the whole scene.
As an outside bet I have J-scene lifestyle items (don't fight it).. T-shirts, seat covers, hanging rings, suitable air fresheners (teltela), subway maps on the dashboard, magazines in the boot, models on the parcel shelf etc. etc.
What are you predicting, remember folks fashion and trends are not a crime.

the whole stretch/poke/gape/stupid camber thing has a long way to run yet this year i recon. futher to that, bozo still hasnt really broke here yet despite it being the buzzword of last year. as a development of that, i vote for massive cars on tiny wheels as the way forward. cheaper tyres, cheaper rims, insane looks. highly finished gloss and metal flake colours on inner arches ftw- no stonechip!!! boring colours that arent brown- plain greens, beiges, blues, but mixed up with wild flake accents. i agree with all the lifestyle tat getting bigger. it seems every marque needs a scene to belong to, and they all come with their associated accessories, for the scenesters to spend more on than their actual cars

OAP+ "Sid & Doris" spec rides in disgusting colours (hearing aid beige, fern green etc) from reviled manufacturers. The Maestro 1.3HL is going to be sooo hot. Teamed with driving gloves, sensible shoes and tweed jackets. Uprated wheel / suspension / power mods only. No 'rat-look' "76" stickers here: "National Trust" & "I've been to Heavor Castle" window adornments are where it's at. Think Slater's Metro, or anything by Hirst.
Dad-look Dad-look is going to be totally fresh this year. Hot accessories are towbars, dog-guards, functional/non-fashion roof-racks and child seats. Couple with slightly unfashionable clothing and a general demeanour of world-wearyness. Cars should be user-friendly, but fast & low. Trendsetters: Me, Seth.

As you said white or pearl white is going to be huge. Went to the merc dealer today and saw a brand new CSL AMG on gloss black rimz with a cream white paint - it looked stunning.
I reckon going lower and lower will be quite big at the shows.

i think contrasting coloured wheels are gonna be even more popular this year, I'm planning on a slammed black car with black and cream steelies anyway, but ive seen alot of cars with black and green, black and bodycoloured wheels, might mean the end of chrome.
i hope so anyway

Looks like this is the trend for me, this has been in my autoshite signature for a while now… “1985 Accord 1.8EXR 4dr (OAP luxury+)” To that list I would add wee sample bottle, tin of sweets, James Last and Richard Clayderman tapes and a travelling rug. Bowls Club stickers also good, and one for the mysterious PROBUS organisation too for added intrigue. Make sure these are genuine things you’ve found from previous owners, not just lifestyle accoutrements picked up in a charity shop – that’s cheating. The Luxury+ arm of OAP look is achieved by making sure you get the most chrome-laden, faux wood and chintz-filled version – think Vanden Plas, Ghia etc – bought to remind Sid n’ Doris of proper cars from the past. Visit a J-Tin picnic for more ideas on this. I’ll be mixing that up with elements of dad-look, and accidentally it would appear I’ve stepped foot in another trend by having a white car (the lovely Laurel hardtop).

dad look sounds like what I'm going to be doing with the tina would be nice if the trinkets fell by the way side but the scenesters will keep adding to them , then itl crash into itself and less will be more of course this is just what the people that want to show off will be doing , as ever newer bigger engines will be slotted into old cars period stuff will keep the time served owners occupied ( when will people start using old bike carbs ) but the big thing of next year will be big turbos

Wider and wider wheels will be in as people try to push the limits more and more (myself included hopefully). Air-ride is already popular but I think its gonna balloon the more cost effective it becomes. More concentration on asthetics and mad modifcations as more youngsters get into the scene, this could go one of two ways, either produce some awe-inspiring cars or some truly awful examples.

I'd like to see more tucked rims as opposed to poke.
Or tucked fronts with WIIIIIIDE rears with poke/stretch/camber...On FWD cars.

I reckon OAP+ look could get quite big imagine how much the price of all the silly accessories would go up if it did.
I'm just gonna keep creating "why the curse word has he done that to a (insert non vag car)....." cars hopefully. Got a couple of ideas to do once i've got the unos sorted. I reckon national hot rod style will be a cool look but nobody will copy it.
