Just about to ask the same, Re welding, presumably the interference fit is added security, ease of centering the location of the rim.
My bet is that the osf boys will make you rich this summer.

If that welds OK it'll look brilliant. What size are they now about 13x9?

If you pull that off successfully I think I'll be buying up some more Lotus rims! I'm guessing that a conversion to split rim outers could be done the same way.

Oh yeh the Split rim coversion is relly easy. You just need a rim the right size and a wheel with some meat in the right place!
I want to do cloverleafs but the lathe aint big enough!!

Could you use a large + offset wheel as the new dish part to make a super dished version? I'm thinking silly dished saab inca would be the winner of ever. Matt

aghh its starting again!! 3 PMs in the last 5mins 'can you please make me some'
Now i don't blame you for asking, but, ive only made half of one wheel so far, i have no idea if it will work and it wont work for all wheels, It only just about worked for these.
If i do maybe make some for someone then it will probably be a minimum of £100 a wheel its not simple and quick! and at present i cant do anything bigger than 13"s. Might be able the stretch to some 14"s if i made special soft jaws but i don't have any to hand atm!.... and.. like i said, without some indepth measuring i cant tell you if its possible with any specific wheels.
That said if i finish this pair they might be for sale!

Dude, is there anything you can't do? I reckon you should finish a set and put them on that MK1 Escort you keep threatening to finish.
