K, so i'm in the process of refurbing my new alloys but the centres are knee deep in alloy corrosion! See ClickyWhats the best way of removing the white dusty corrosion without me spending out on blasting, cause whilst the wire wheel is working fine, its really hard to get in all the little nooks... Is there a chemical or summat?

I may be wrong but I think an acid dip of some sort is the best way to do it. I think most of the re-furb companies do this. Not sure what the cost is though.

I did a cheap DIY on my MR2 tear drops, easy due to flat surface, i had a drill attachment from B&Q that looks like a circular pan cleaner, awesome thing. then build up with etch primer or hi build/filler primer. they were not master pieces but looked great even in silver. Would be trickier with wheels shaped like yours.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

if its only the centres you want doing then take em to a powder coater and strike a deal with him, personally i reckon it should be about £10 to £15 per centre shot and painted.

2 words - Elbow Grease! lol
Wire brush to start with, then wet'n'dry until they're clean. Either that or get 'em bead blasted, there's a place in Spondon that did some bike bits for me, could be worth giving 'em a shout?

That works superbly on steel parts, was a nice link a while ago, but not sure if its the same for aluminium.
