I had a maestro once. 2.0i MG it was. Quick, handled resonably well, looked quite good for a maestro too. But it was still a maestro. Sooooooooo gald ive sold it! That said they aint that bad, and have alot of potential to go silly quick and handle rather well indeed. Id love to see one given the boso look, even though I don't like the boso look at all (well, bits of it). BOSO MONTEGO!?! Wide small minilights on that would rock too! All smothed off bodywork in that blue or gold. Or the light metallic green. Someone do it please! Save it and create something obscene out of it. SLATER!!!!!!!!! Yeah i'm with you there, I think a Monty would look great with some Boso inspired mods... I actually worked on mine today for the first time in ages! If it ever runs again i'd like to do something funky with it

Where are the potatochop heroes when you need them.
At 50 squidzillios, it makes sense even just as an exercise in what can be done.
How about it..... could this become a Retro-Rides combined project, with everyone adding a penny, Pound or piece of kit, pound of Bondo, can of aerosol, or a wide rim or pimped interior..... pumping stereo, pointy Zorst, Purple metalflake, and then run a lottery for it, to the effect of a £2, 3, 4 or £5 donation, toward the lottery, which then is donated to a worthy cause, or even ploughed into the next venue for RR '08 ...... just thinking out loudly, and doing a bit of P-Alliteration.
(I would be happy to drop £10 into the slush fund, if it is do-able etc.......
Looks like a great little car, and 1600cc 's worth of insurance friendly capacity.

Question time... 1: (as always : what stud patten are these? 2: what condition is it in other than the arches? Huge MOT failure/ minor issues or flying colours? 3: Do I really need it? 4: What the hell am I going to do with it? 5: why am I thinking about buying a maestro?

Ask Slater. I have 3. Of course not. 4. Slam, subtle rims, "I've been to Heavor castle" sticker, tartan blanket, 2.0 turbo lump. Win! OAP+, it's the future. 5. Because RR has corrupted your sense of right & wrong.

B reg should be an 'S' series, but if there was a delay in registering it it might just be an R - 1984 was about the changeover time.

if its not rusty it will sell and probably go for more than £50 on ebay if its driveable . Due to having a maestro too, checking on bits for it on ebay I do notice the prices and any old banger metro even rot boxs and maestro seems to be fetching £100+ with no mot. Anyway weldone for pulling it out of the scrappy. Zircon Blue is one of a better BL colours

Nice. Maestros are good motors, it would be great if this one were saved. Didnt early 1.6 maestros and later 1.6 maestros have different engines? All 1.6's are the S-series 8v. Later ones have auto choke and the cam covers changed slightly. The one forsale here is a early one as it doesn't have side repeater on the wings. Nippy engine mind, I know someone who got busted and banned for doing 102 average on the m1 in a 1.6 montego LOL.

Well done for saving it.
It's too far for me, otherwise I'd have said yes. And then got murdered by SWMnotBO.
